A narcotics raid in central Bangkok has led to the arrest of a Nigerian drug dealer and two Thai staff members, with multiple illegal substances seized and over 20 partygoers testing positive for drugs. The operation took place in the early hours of 18 October, when more than 100 officers from the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB) and related agencies raided a popular nightclub in the Ratchaprarop area that reportedly stayed open until morning.

The raid, led by ONCB Secretary-General Pol Lt Gen Suriya Singhamon, followed complaints to the agency’s hotline (1386) alleging that foreign mafia figures were supplying cocaine and crystal meth (“ice”) inside the club. Investigations over a two-month period confirmed that a Nigerian man and his Thai wife were distributing drugs to local and international patrons. Acting on this intelligence, the ONCB obtained arrest warrants before carrying out the coordinated raid.

Authorities found the venue packed with more than 100 Thai and foreign revellers. Drug tests were conducted on 127 people, customers and staff, with 22 testing positive, 11 Thai and 11 foreign nationals. Officers arrested one Nigerian suspect in possession of around 12 grams of cocaine, along with two Thai employees carrying two bags of ice (around 2 grams) and a lump of cocaine. Several additional packets of cocaine and ice, used zip-lock bags and numerous nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) balloons were also recovered from the men’s restroom.

Pol Lt Gen Suriya stressed that Thailand will not tolerate foreign criminal networks exploiting the country’s nightlife industry. He urged all entertainment venues to comply strictly with the law to protect Thailand’s reputation and tourism image. “We will not allow foreign mafia or anyone above the law to turn our nation into a drug haven,” he stated.

Following the arrests, Thai suspects were taken to Din Daeng Police Station for legal proceedings before being referred for rehabilitation at Din Daeng Public Health Service Centre 4. The Nigerian suspect and other foreign offenders will face prosecution for drug offences before being transferred to Immigration for deportation.

District authorities from Ratchathewi have also charged the nightclub’s management for operating without permission, staging live music unlawfully and remaining open beyond legal hours. The case is expected to lead to further administrative penalties or potential closure orders against the establishment.

Key Takeaways

• ONCB officers raided a Ratchaprarop nightclub on 18 October, arresting a Nigerian dealer and two Thai staff.

• Twenty-two of 127 tested patrons, both Thai and foreign, showed positive drug results.

• Authorities plan prosecutions, deportations, and potential sanctions on the venue.

They have been here for years what a surprise to police who think they are Thai Vietnamese war babies

Police don't have to stay up all night searching for these mongoloids.

All they  have to do is walk up and down Soi 11 any evening.
