A lot of information to unpack from this video.

-thousands of IDF soldiers with PTSD flying  into Thailand to stay at a so-called “healing space” named “David’s circle”

-many Israelis were killed by the “Hannibal Directive” by the IDF to prevent Hamas taking hostages

-Soldiers Save Lives is raising money for traumatized IDF soldiers and for developing weapons, namely drones and promotes pro- Israel content on social media

- Thais and other foreigners are saying the whole vibe of Pai has changed in a negative way as a result

-they are cheering and clapping killed Palestinians on Thai beaches.

-pro Israeli posters are being posted on public electricity poles and in public areas

- many are working illegally and setting up companies illegally

-signs are going up saying No Israelis in Thai businesses. Israelis are then flooding the restaurants with bad social media reviews and calling for boycotts. Israelis are telling Thais that Israeli money built Thailand

-even some Israelis are complaining about this behavior

We are only at the beginning of a massive influx of Israelis. Tourists from Israel are up 25%. What is behind it is Chabad have started building Chabad houses in Thailand. And everywhere one of these Chabad houses appears, be it Pai or Ko Phangan, the inevitable problems with Israeli tourists follow, crime, drugs, violent behaviour and disrespect for Thais.

As Chabad continue their drive to build Chabad houses, these issues will multiply mannifold. There are 14 million jews, we're only seeing 330,000 Israeli tourists each year, but again, each year a 25% increase.

Things will get a lot worse in terms of Israeli influx.

While I am sure the Palestinians will be happy that Israel are pulling out Thai businesses owners will be busy putting up signs.

I think the best way to control the situation might be to be very hard on them and deport the troublemakers quickly so they know where they stand.

That's what I heard as well. The same was said about Pai, until the locals made representations to Shinawatra, who then sent Anutin to Pai to investigate. Miraculously Thais were suddenly welcome at the Pai Chabad house when they realised Thai politicians were investigating Chabad. Of course Anutin go the VIP treatment ("Oh no we love Thais").

They will lie and misrepresent themselves to ensure the Chabad houses can stay open in Thailand. But everyone knows these Chabad Houses cater to Jewish extremists, like I:DF soldiers and religious far right nutcases.

Well, everyone apart from Anutin apparently, who concluded "no action required" in Pai. So Israelis are now pouring in at top speed.

The problem is most likely the usual, Thai politicians know that if they took resolute action against Chabad houses and Israelis this would have massive economic effects, as the Israel lobby would then work to curtail foreign investment into Thailand.

So in a way the Thai government's hands are bound, if they act harshly against Israeli the economic consequences could be severe for Thailand.

They are being dealt with as we speak so no worries. Over 2300 are on a list already that prevents extensions.

Where I live several Israeli families have moved in the past few months.  They all know each other and home school their kids.  They do not appear to work here they are always at their residences. They are ok as neighbors say Hello and smile,  except they do not seem to discipline their kids very well.

Settlers?

Or just visiting?

From observation I would say that Israelis are a group that feed on chaos, it's either a habit or they need it to function (those two are probably inexorably entwined). Therefore, wherever they go the atmosphere is highly charged and when confronted the situation escalates rather than deescalates.

I have known a few people with this characteristic in England but they are independent characters (generally high performing). When it comes to the Israelis it seems to be more of a group characteristic. Predictably, it cause all sorts of problems.

Yes and that sort of behavior is jarring for their Thai hosts which has resulted in many businesses banning them completely.

nothing like non current mis- information being spread. The Chabad houses welcome visitors from all races. They are centered around jewish culture and support of jews worldwide.

Yes @MalcolmB we understand you hate Jews. You have publicly stated you're anti-semitic, and constantly post about your hatred, even though the forum rules clearly state:

Do not post defamatory, offensive, or discriminatory content.

You clearly need to be banned.

Another apologist.

Current affairs in Thailand currently and not just us fellow expats who are complaining but Thais are having to put up signs to keep them out.

But you want to give them a free pass to run riot over the Thais and paint it as discriminatory?

You are a disgrace.

And I would like to remind you that discussing moderation is not allowed.

Go to the Chabad House in Bangkok.

Unless you are a Jew you will not be permitted entry.

It is their rules. That is a fact, not an opinion.

Thais were also banned from the Pai Chabad. Another fact.

Very discriminatory for a group that is always playing the discrimination card.

While that is indeed very regrettable, at least Norwegians, and Scandis generally, are not known to engage in criminal activity and drug excesses in Thailand.

It's a bit different with Israelis.

Sure. They paint it as “security concerns”

Key facts about the Bangkok Chabad House
  • Name: Ohr Menachem.
  • Function: It serves as a Jewish community center, providing religious and educational services for both visitors and locals.
  • Services: Offers Sabbath and holiday meals, making it a central gathering place for the community, particularly for Israeli tourists.
  • History: Became an important disaster relief center after the 2004 tsunami.
  • Security: Due to security concerns, access is restricted to the Jewish community.
