Well, by sheer numbers you'd have to agree the Russians are an even bigger problem than the Israelis. For now at least.

Many of the Israelis ARE Russians.

I would agree and 6 months ago you had the same stories about the Russian as the current Israelis.

Unfortunately if you have the sheer numbers of "visitors" from other countries coming with minimal enforcement of regs then this is what happens.

I think thais have a right to worry about their jobs being protected. They do get worked up and over the top with how they gossip and then it turns to "fact"  and becomes very difficult to decipher truth from fiction. Then when AN posters buy into the propaganda that doesn't help the situation.

Exactly. There is a snyergy of mafia elements flooding into Thailand.

Exactly right, Jihngthing.

I genuingely think Thais have no clue to what extent Israelis are infiltrated by Russian mafia, the extent to which Israeli mafia is involved in drugs trade, that Israel is the biggest consumer of medical weed per capita, the biggest consumer of opiods per capita.

Let alone the national characters of Russians and Israelis. The Thais are totally clueless about this I think. I mean, they will learn of course, but whether they will ban Israelis altogether like Malaysia, I doubt it very much.

You tried to call bs on the Bangkok Chabad house banning non Jews also.

Maybe you don’t converse with the better educated Thai females.

If you ever meet one ask that is university educated ask them, it is a common thing for these religious weirdos to travel to Thailand and try and convert people.

More deflection on to it being a Thai problem.

If these people learn to behave respectfully there will be no problem.

I call bs on your uni female story and what your wrote about Chabad house because it is. Telling a lie repeatedly does not make it true.

I have never seen Thais making any other signs banning anyone apart from Israelis.

It is quite specific

Thirteen countries do not accept Israeli passports: Algeria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Malaysia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Yemen.

Do you notice what all these countries have in common? Now, how could Thailand possibly belong on that list?

It is probably those ones causing most of the problems and sadly all the Russians get tarred with the same brush.

Well, it's different with Thailand obviously. With a 14% disproportionate Israeli influx in Pai, the negative behaviour of Israelis there has grown out of hand. If Thailand would ban Israelis it would be for bad behaviour.

It is more than that.

what about Indonesia, Maldives etc etc

I don't believe in treating any group as a monolith.

You're being moronic in your attempts to flip the conversation. I never said the Israelis haven't had issues and caused problems but its not all jews like you try to paint them.  I also am not blaming all thais but there are a number that have taken the issue and blown it up bigger than it needs to be by refusing service to all israelis.

Your reading comprehension is really lacking or your racial bias to overwhelming your brain.

Send me a link where Brits or Aussies have been subject to signs in Thailand banning them.

You are just making stuff up now.

What kind of country bans ALL citizens of another country because of their “bad behavior”? Do any such precedents even exist in the world?

No matter what other countries you add to the list, they all still share one very specific characteristic — one that has nothing to do with Thailand.

Yes, good question, there is some precedent: All English football fans were banned from European football matches, for 5 YEARS between 1985 - 90.

Also, UK authorities banned Israeli fans from a football match in Birmingham.

Malcolm, do give it  a rest about your signs .

Makes the forum rather boring to keep reading the same thing all the time and have the same discussion about the same signs .

You pro Palestinians do have  habit of keeping repeating yourselves .

Todays topic :

"Signs in Thai shops banning Israelis"

Same as every other day this year

If I remember correctly, there was a five-year ban on English football clubs from participating in international competitions. However, no one banned ALL English people from visiting the countries where those tournaments were held, or from attending the matches themselves — except for certain individuals directly linked to hooligan groups.

Well the British I understand put in place a blanket ban on Israelis attending a particular match with Aston Villa, that was not just targeted at hooligans. Starmer didn't like it and called it anti-semitic.

If I recall correctly, the ban was not just on English clubs but also on English hooligans attending other football matches, but yes that one was targeted at specific hooligans, unlike this British ban on Israelis attending the Aston Villa game.

Given the surge of Indians and Israelis I feel the need to apologize to the Chinese. We're not done scraping the bottom of the barrel yet it seems.

And I was asking about banning all citizens of another country because of the bad behavior of just a few of them. I don’t know of a single example of such a ban anywhere - yet you keep talking about it as if it were a perfectly reasonable possibility for Thailand. You also mention countries like Malaysia as example, even though their policies have nothing to do with bad behavior or similar issues. Those are purely politically and religiously motivated decisions.

In addition of course the US has banned the nationals from several Muslim countries only recently, in Trump's first administration.

Also Azerbaijan has banned nationals of Armenia en toto.

The Japanese have banned North Koreans, following a kidnap of a Japanese girls by North Korean agents.

To this very day several European countries, including Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and the Czech Republic are banning Russian tourists from entry.
