Motorbike rental Phuket Town

Featured Replies

I need to rent a motorbike for a month and if someone have info to share, I like to know if there are a motorbike rental company that operates seriously with standardized rental contracts and where it is either included insurance or possible to buy as an add-on that covers damage to both the motorbike, the rider and third party. I will be located in Phuket town so prefer to eventually pick it up in town area.

Thanks

You will get great advice for sure with all the well informed members here. No doubt.

Kindly allow me to humbly add that no matter from where you take it, make sure to take full photos of the entire bike before leaving the rental shop and check if the painted areas are not in some washable paint that they could remove when the bike is returned and show up some damage that you did not make. Not all are a bunch of cheats, but there are unfortunately quite a few out there, like in any country with those rental chaps...Ride safe.

Thank you for replying. I have found a few online but only a couple of them offer insurance and some even reply "not possible on motorbike" Totally b.... it. Anyway, I have the possibility to send my own bike there but cost for secure return sending with a private transport company is actually more than rental a month.

Please be aware that most of those that say they offer insurance will mean the compulsory insurance.

It will probably be like that, but I had actually thought that motorbike rentals, and car rentals for that matter, would be a little more responsible for their business operations now than when I first set foot in Phuket! But as mentioned, no insurmountable problem. I myself have motorbike insurance with Roojai which costs me about Thb 4900, - annually and when rental companies don't have the finances for minimum similar insurances do that in itself give the answer to whether people should rent or not.

Simply a too high risk for insurance companies to insure holiday riders.

A little sidetrack here but according to one of the most well-known motorcycle sales businesses in Phuket (I believe) it is possible to get a "Certificate of Residence" issued by Immigration even if you are staying at a hotel and use the address there when applying for the Certificate. Can anyone confirm that this is correct?

Thanks
