This is major news as it seems they were heading down the path of banning meat.

Maybe many of the studies were "fake studies" linking meat butter and eggs to heart disease.

The "vegan agenda" in the West has been pushed for decades now.

And first the "Food Pyramid" which was crap.

Long overdue. It's been known for ages.

Now the orthodoxy is:

4-1-1

4x IF 1x OMAD and 1xFreestyle.

New guidance encouraging the consumption of foods like butter, cheese, milk and red meat could be issued as soon as this month.

You should have more fully quoted the report, and the predictable nonsense of RFK Jr.s ideas:

"Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to release new dietary guidelines encouraging more consumption of saturated fats, despite long-held medical recommendations advising against this. [emphasis added]

...

The American Heart Association (AHA) — who Kennedy accused of being “co-opted by the food industry” in a Senate hearing earlier this year — recommends limiting saturated fats to only 6 percent of one’s diet.

“Saturated fats are found in butter, cheese, red meat, other animal-based foods and tropical oils. Decades [of] science has proven that saturated fats can raise your ‘bad’ cholesterol and put you at higher risk for heart disease,” the AHA says in its guidance.

...

In evaluating the carnivore diet, the British Heart Foundation said, “Extreme diets high in saturated fat and low in fibre are known to raise cholesterol levels, increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.”

https://thehill.com/newsletters/health-care/5564158-rfk-jr-recommend-eating-saturated-fats/

It's predictable non-scientific nonsense from one of the biggest health misinformers in the world!

"Since 2005, Kennedy has promoted vaccine misinformation[1] and public-health conspiracy theories,[2] including the chemtrail conspiracy theory,[3] HIV/AIDS denialism,[4] and the scientifically disproved claim of a causal link between vaccines and autism.[5] He has drawn criticism for fueling vaccine hesitancy amid a social climate that gave rise to the deadly measles outbreaks in Samoa and Tonga.[6]

Kennedy is the founder and former chairman[7] of Children's Health Defense, an anti-vaccine advocacy group and proponent of COVID-19 vaccine misinformation."

...

Kennedy began experiencing severe short- and long-term memory loss and mental fog in 2010. In a 2012 divorce court deposition, he attributed neurological issues to "a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died", in addition to mercury poisoning from eating large quantities of tuna.[465][467] In October 2025, his wife Cheryl Hines confirmed that a worm ate "a little bit of his brain and then died."

That should give you even more weight loss.

Would also control the insulin spikes even more.

Very restrictive and difficult of course, and you'd have to check you get enough nutrients and protein as you're restricting to OMAD twice a week.

Another variation is IF, IF, IF, OMAD, OMAD, OMAD, Full Fast. That's supposed to have the greatest benefit for those with chronic diseases.

Some scientific studies in the nutrition field studies are co-opted by the folks who provide funding for those studies.

But I am not going to enter a debate whether or not saturated fat studies were co-opted by the food industry.

I am eating saturated fats. I am always a little concerned that I might be eating too much .... I really don't know how much is too much.

It's just guidelines anyway. No one is forcing you to listen to RFK Jr if you don't trust him.

I wasn't getting my dietary guidelines from the Food Pyramid or from the Vegan Brigade.

RFK Jr's guidelines are closer to what I've been eating anyway.

Have you not noticed, cows never eat saturated fat, but still get fat?

Oh no you didn't

For decades, the health community has presented saturated fat as a major risk factor for the development of cholesterol and heart disease. The demonisation of saturated fat was based on the theory that it raised the type of cholesterol known as Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL), which was thought to block arteries and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. However, we now know that the cholesterol picture is much more complex than we first thought and, although saturated fat may raise a type of large LDL, this type is not as strongly associated with heart disease as the smaller, denser form of LDL cholesterol.

Although this and other new evidence suggests that saturated fat may not be directly linked to heart disease, it remains important to monitor your total fat intake. This is because most UK adults eat too much fat, especially saturated fat, and the evidence remains controversial. For this reason, the UK Government recommends total fat intake should not exceed 35 per cent of our total daily energy (calorie) needs with the maximum for saturated fats being 11 per cent of our total daily energy (calorie) needs.

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/health/nutrition/saturated-fat-facts

The study, by an international team of researchers, tracked 4,150 Swedish 60-year-olds for more than 16 years, and found those with the highest intakes of dairy had a lower risk of cardiovascular disease than those with low intakes. It also found no link between higher intakes of dairy and an increased risk of death.

Lead author of the study, Dr Kathy Trieu from The George Institute for Global Health in Australia, says the results suggest cutting down on dairy might not be the best choice for heart health. “Increasing evidence suggests that the health impact of dairy foods may be more dependent on the type – such as cheese, yoghurt, milk, and butter – rather than the fat content, which has raised doubts [about] if avoidance of dairy fats overall is beneficial for cardiovascular health,” she says.

Many previous studies have suggested dairy foods such as milk, cheese and yoghurt can have a neutral or even positive effect on reducing a person’s risk of cardiovascular disease, despite their saturated fat content. Research has also linked consumption of some dairy products with a lower risk of developing Type-2 diabetes and high blood pressure, both factors that increase our likelihood of cardiovascular disease.

Dr Mellor believes it might be time for public health messaging about saturated fats to change to reflect the heart-protective benefits of eating small amounts of dairy, and to assure the public that full-fat dairy doesn’t have to be avoided.

What diet was the worm on?

Was the consumption of RFK's noggin filling considered a "freestyle" day?

"eating small amounts of dairy" as mentioned in the above news report is not the same thing, even close, to what RFJ Jr. is talking about:

America Stopped Cooking With Tallow for a Reason

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s view on fats is about bucking convention, not promoting health.

"Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s latest spin on MAGA, “Make frying oil tallow again,” is surprisingly straightforward for a man who has spent decades downplaying his most controversial opinions. Last month, Kennedy argued in an Instagram post that Americans were healthier when restaurants such as McDonald’s cooked fries in beef tallow—that is, cow fat—instead of seed oils, a catchall term for common vegetable-derived oils including corn, canola, and sunflower. Americans, he wrote, are “being unknowingly poisoned” by seed oils; in his view, we’d all be better off cooking with solid fats such as tallow, butter, and lard. In a video that Kennedy posted on Thanksgiving, he deep-fries a whole turkey in beef tallow and says, “This is how we cook the MAHA way.”

Cardiologists shuddered at the thought. Conventional medical guidance has long recommended the reverse: less solid fat, more plant oils. But in recent years, a fringe theory has gained prominence for arguing that seed oils are toxic, put into food by a nefarious elite—including Big Pharma, the FDA, and food manufacturers—to keep Americans unhealthy and dependent. Most nutrition scientists squarely dismiss this idea as a conspiracy theory. But the movement probes some unresolved, fundamental questions about nutrition. Are saturated fatty acids—the kind in animal fat—actually dangerous? And are polyunsaturated ones—found in plant-derived oils—really all that great for your heart?

...

The research has continued to bear out the dangers of saturated fats—and, crucially, the benefits of replacing them with polyunsaturated ones. The most recent version of the U.S. dietary guidelines caps saturated fat intake at roughly 20 grams a day. Federal guidance holds that “the best way to protect your health is not just to limit saturated fat—it’s to replace it with healthier unsaturated fats.” That is to say, no one should be replacing their seed oils with beef tallow." [emphasis added]

William Howard Taft was the fattest president in U.S. history, weighing over 350 pounds during his presidency. He had a MAGA Index (BMI) of 45, which classifies him as obese.

Both saturated and unsaturated fats are consumed through their natural diet of forages and grains. In the cow's rumen, most unsaturated fats from their diet are converted into saturated fats, which is why cow's milk and meat are naturally high in saturated fat. Dairy farmers also sometimes supplement cows' diets with additional fats, including saturated fats, to increase energy intake and milk production.

In 2023 to 2024, 64.5% of adults aged 18 years and over in England were estimated to be overweight or living with obesity, an increase from 64.0% in the previous year. The prevalence of obesity itself was 26.5% during this period, which is similar to the 26.2% recorded in 2022 to 2023. This reflects a long-term upward trend, with the proportion of adults who are overweight or obese rising from 52.9% in 1993 to 64.3% in 2022. The rate is higher among men (69.7%) than women (59.2%) for being overweight or obese, while obesity prevalence is slightly higher among women (26.9%) than men (26.2%). Obesity rates increase with age, peaking among adults aged 55 to 64 years at 32.5%.

Just noticed that a couple of my posts are "Popular Posts".

But most of the emojis are laughing emojis.

Laughing emojis can have 2 meanings: 1 - your post is funny or 2 - your post is stupid (ie I am laughing at you)

So if meaning 2, should the post be "popular"?
