Actually for the most of us, they WERE the good old days,

There was even a BBC TV program that ran for 30 years ca;;ed

The Good Old Days was a BBC television light entertainment programme produced by Barney Colehan which ran for 30 years from 20 July 1953 to 31 December 1983.

It was performed at the Leeds City Varieties and recreated an authentic atmosphere of the Victorian–Edwardian music hall with songs and sketches of the era performed in the style of the original artistes.[2]

The audience dressed in period costume and joined in the singing, especially "Down at the Old Bull and Bush" which closed the show each week.[2] The show was compered throughout its whole run (except for the first two shows) by Leonard Sachs, who introduced the acts from a desk situated at the side of the stage.[3] In the course of its run it featured about 2,000 performers. Each show was up to an hour long.

It's alleged that the BBC television program "The Good Old Days" was the reason the TV remote control was invented.

Eric Clapton did play in Manchester at the Domino Club. I think the info on google is wrong, I remember it being Derek and The Dominos, then it goes on to say Clapton played at the Twisted Wheel, now I don't remember that, I was there almost every week,

So that was after June 1970.

And a yeast extract called VIROL

My mum force fed us Radio Malt and those little fish oil capsules. Yuck!

She also had a small bottle of DDT handy if we were bitten by midges or mossies to dab on the bite.

Don't know how we survived to adulthood.

Another Chris May classic painting re past history wonderfully captured. Also explaining what his work of art is about. Superb.

Legends in Bricks

A nostalgic moment captured on a street corner where a young boy stands transfixed by a poster of the Great Train Robbery, not in admiration of the crime, but sparked by the larger-than-life presence of stories and legends that fuel a child’s imagination. A nod to the way urban spaces and news once stirred wonder and curiosity.
