I never really wanted kids. Even when the Russian ex-wife began clamouring for them I was very reticent and reluctant. Not having gone through it I, like most people, overestimated the problems involved.

 

Even now, if Phuket Girl and I were to get very serious, kids would not be top of my wishlist. To me kids is always something the woman wanted, not me. So the question then is do you want to go through with it with her or not?

 

Now, if Phuket Girl changes her mind and says in 5 years she wants children I would go through it with her. For simple reason that most of the heavy lifting would be done by her, only the financial part would fall on me, which is straight forward. Sure I'd have to help a bit, it would affect the relationship, but if it is unavoidable I can go through it at 59. Yes it's late, but I already have two, and it's more of a gift for her.

 

It's nice to have children, don't get me wrong, I love my two daugthers dearly, but it's not a big issue to me to have them or not have them. Either way would work for me.

This kind of notion of shame is something drummed into people by Christian religions and sects, starting with the fairy tale of the paradise and Adam and Eve and the snake and the apple. It totally didn't work out.

But she was the real deal. She was asking me for advice, she was actually shy about talking about her thing.

I'm viewing Chinese as my next sub pop. They have their own money and they tend to be very educated.

But the money'/status thing is through the roof. And with that, the B-factor. So those areserious barriers to involvement.

I have 100% freedom and 0% stress. A gf would change that math. So I am def. picky.

Plus I want to travel every third month -and most of it would be solo.

Plus I won't be legally divorced for a couple of years, plus the unattractiveness factor of being 73.

So on one side, I'm super choosey and happy alone. And then on the other side, my pool is small with all of the negatives above, which they'd have to swallow.

So I'm just livin' La Vida Loca and not killing myself looking, it's about one month on Tinder, six weeks off.

She was an options trader; she asked me about stocks to hold long term for dividend income. She was a little shy about it because she considers me to be smarter on this issue.

The search continues for:

-someone happy with a low-ish time commitment, OK with my solo travel, open to a trip when the time is right.

- Low stress, Not demanding to see divorce papers; not squicked out about having sex with 73 year old me.

I'll be away for 8 weeks total between now and May 1, so no point in shaking the Tinder tree or cold approaching anyone at Meetups till then. I will then consider women outside of Bangkok.

It's been a pattern of a month-six weeks of looking and then about the same amount of time not looking since August. So all in, only about 90 days of seeking.

I hope others will join brave Cameroni and tell about their own partner search.

Every option and choice comes with a sacrifice, so if you are 100% without need for a social female companion, you are most likely a free man, but,,, very few is, and the options to fulfill those needs without a regular, is hard for most.

Depending on you and your personality. For me constantly chasing new women be it professionals or not, is not especially satisfying in the long run.
