January 26Jan 26 Internet trollAn Internet troll is an individual who deliberately provokes or upsets others within online communities, particularly on social media platforms. This behavior, known as trolling, typically involves posting inflammatory or malicious comments to elicit strong emotional reactions from users. The term "troll" is believed to have originated from the act of fishing, where bait is used to catch fish, paralleling how trolls seek to attract attention and reactions. Trolling can have severe consequences for victims, leading to emotional distress, depression, and in some tragic cases, suicidal thoughts.Psychological factors contribute to the phenomenon of trolling, including the disinhibition effect, which allows individuals to act boldly online due to perceived anonymity. Trolls often exhibit low empathy levels and may derive pleasure from causing pain to others. The rise of trolling has been amplified by technological developments and the increasing use of social media, with notable instances of state-sponsored trolling also coming to light. Understanding the motivations behind trolling—ranging from boredom to a desire for attention—can offer insights into combating this pervasive issue within online interactions.

This figure reflects a steady increase over time, with earlier data from 2013 showing 14.13% for the same group.I have no idea how many Thai women have a degree. I do know that my super duper 100% chinese wife has MBA. However, compared to her friends i think she is poorest in the group. One of her friends (from Isaan) owns a pig farm and is a billionaire. The other one has several businesses and 3 houses. Another one works for CBRE and her commissions are half a million per month (maybe that changed now). Many others also have busineses and no degree.Thailand is more of a capitalist society than where we come from. Seen it with my own eyes. Many foreigners like Cameroni date lazy girls degree or not.

Some say they are not interested anyway. I have heard countless variations of that excuse, but it usually boils down to the same thing - they have never been exposed to another side of Thai society, so they simply do not believe it exists in a meaningful manner thats accessible to them.Whenever someone shares an experience like yours, the predictable comments follow. Claims that the person must be exaggerating - with sarcastic responses... "oh everyone says they have a hi-so white skinned Thai-Chinese Wife"... The assumption being that such stories are rare, unusual, or somehow suspect. In reality, plenty of Westerners have crossed socio-economic boundaries here and built perfectly normal lives and relationships. That is not meant as a slight against people from poorer backgrounds, but rather to underline how ordinary your experience actually is. I know many men who have dated and married well-educated, financially comfortable Thai women, also plenty who have partnered with hardworking women from humbler circumstances who have nothing to do with the stereotypes people like to throw around.Yet for some observers, this remains almost impossible to imagine. Their view of Thailand is limited to the slice they have personally experienced, and anything outside that frame feels unrealistic or fabricated.

My wife was just an ordinary middle class Thai woman. She isn't different just because she never accepted money for companionship.Yet somehow, in their eyes, every single one of their prostitutes who is asking them money every time they touch them are unique and special. Funny how that works.

I wonder how the relationship was for you and how the family treated you.I’ve had some contact with highly educated Thais in the same field of work, hard working people, some lovely ladies as well. However, yesterday there were three texts from her and then long silence. So I called her. She picked up.The other day while on the beach she had met someone with whom she really clicked A girl she said at first. With an American boyfriend. She said this girl played volleyball and they got talking. And she really liked this girl. However, on the phone call she disclosed that this girl was in fact a ladyboy. She was on the way to meet her in Patong.Whilst I was pleased in a way that she was out and about without the Austrian and picked up my call as a result, I was not pleased that she did not tell me she had made plans to meet this person for lunch. She was travelling alone, she could have called me, texted me. But she didn't. Even after our call, when she finished the meeting she did not text me right away or call me. She went home to the Austrian. Texted me briefly she'd go to the beach. Then after a few hours, I checked in again and she said she hadn't gone to the beach. She'd supposedly spent the last 3 hours cooking with the Austrian. She proceeded to text me more, but it was not the usual way. it was like distant. I noticed also that my messages were often delivered but not read, so I asked her if she was texting other guys on Whatsapp. She said no, and she was on tiktok. Though why would Whatsapp say she was online then. She said "I can talk to you now". And then sent texts in 15 and 20 minute intervals, which is not satisfactory. I told her she makes 6 hours time for the Austrian, and a few hours time for her new ladyboy friend, she has to make time for me. But the whole quality of our texts is now me basically asking if she f'ed the Austrian, what she is up to, and complaining about not getting enough texts. There is no fun, no playfulness at all. However, she says she's happy she has a new friend now. She's out almost evey day at the beach. It seems she's sucked into the cesspool that Phuket has become, making a ladyboy as a friend now of all things. Who's unemployed on top, and has an American boyfriend. As I suspect, things are going sideways, and over the next 12 days they will only get worse most likely, as I am not liable to hold my tongue if she again pulls a day like yesterday. She still says sweet things, but her actions are of great concern now.

Otherwise there's no point.
January 27Jan 27 Author Just utterly amazing how easy it is to make a date in the age of social media. So when I have a former prospect who flakes, does not reply to a text, what I do is I see if they have attractive friends and text them instead. So I just did that, and I just secured a date with a very attractive Thai girl. The only downside is she told me openly she works as a hotess in a nightclub, so I suspect she's a bona fide sex worker. Though she claimed she only gets paid to drink with clients.Anyway. I'm sure she'll be nice company for a coffee. Her openness and honesty is nice.
