Unable to transfer money using banking app. Facial recognition required and even though that is set up the face scan system doesn't work .I phoned them and was told it's been a problem since July and the tech guys in process of 'changing  software'. ..Since July ?  I said . So basically to  transfer money have to go to a branch withdraw cash and take to the other person/account..Yes that is the only way because ALL transfer transactions with app  (not buying with QR codes) require the face scan that isn't functioning .

Facial recognition has problems.  Customer service K Bank confirmed.

No.

Something very wrong with your transaction limits (checked?) or all transfers are over the limit.

It was dome some months ago when requested . Listen I had phone conversation with customer service who informed me that many K Bank customers are going to branches because the facial recognition system has problems,  he told me it is in process of being changed ..Facts

Indeed I can not get to the face check feature if I try to raise limits.

Instead I have "to request"?/temporary...

Will be at the branch next week 😐

See whether it's general or specific.

My K-Bank app face check does not work either. Can transfer under 50K only.

It's clearly hit and miss if it works or not  I just increased my daily transaction limit (as a test) and face scan worked fine.  Also, my transfer limit without face scan remains 49999.

Thanks for that.

So another face scan broken 🫣

Bangkok Bank too and local branch completely ignorant.

So have something to do for my Pattaya excursion 🤨

My facial recognition works fine with thai banks but not with Google wallet, apparently my very new phone hasn't got the latest tech required

Same her with K bank, just transferred 25 k twice, no problem but 50 k with facial no way!

"Change background " all the time.

I've no problems with K-Bank app, I've not bothered with face recognition, for the few transfers I make over 50k I just break it into several transactions, not a major problem.

The fact is the app requires facial recognitions for under 50000. That's the crazy part. Any app transfer requires a facial recognition.

Not complicated, is it...

Mine doesn't.  It has been stated that they set limits individually, you seem to have drawn the short straw.  Time to pop into the bank and have a word, although good luck making any progress there!

Nor does mine.

Use thai banks for the minimum when no can do otherwise. If not, always use only cash as that's what rules and is the safest here.

That’s really frustrating, sounds like a long standing issue on their end; you might try reinstalling the app or using their web banking as a temporary workaround until the facial recognition fix rolls out.

I've never been prompted for facial recognition for transfers below 50,000 baht. Did you reduce the limit for transactions that require facial recognition, or if not, did you check if it's still showing as 50,000 baht? I'm asking because they adjusted some other limits before (debit card limits).

Um.  Thailand Banking not complicated ?🤣

KPlus app is working as normal for me. Facial scan when doing a transfer is only required when the transfer amount exceeds the "Face Per Transaction" limit. As already suggested, you should check the setting for "Face Per Transaction" limit.

At least you've determined that your issue is not a common problem with the system, but something specific to you.

Wrong. Customer service have told me it's a 'common problem ". Fact that it mostly Thai customers who don't post on ASEAN today might have slipped your mind .

Perhaps go to the bank and have them rescan your face.

It will only be a temporary fix until software issues are resolved

Yesterday I manage to change my daily transaction limit back to 200K. Required face recognition, which worked, with a white wall background, in bright light, at the second attempt.

Back in June they had sat my limit to a stupid 49999 and told me to come to an agency when I tried to increase that. Thing are looking up. Bangkok Bank doesn't seem to limit me at all, with FR though.

Seems things get back to some sanity, let's hope...

Absolute rubbish...have transferred probably 50 times since July....2 larger amounts needed face scan..easy to do.

Also here no problem.

Just last week had to do a bigger transfer, first raised the limit (with facial recognition working first time), then did the actual transfer, again with facial recognition (as over 50k Baht) working first time.

Then reduced limit again for general account safety.

So to say it's a general software error seems weird, but it would not be the first time a help desk worker gives a totally made up excuse just to "save face" for themselves and the bank!

Bit of a typical Thai trait...
