A 12-year-old American girl with autism was safely found in Pattaya, Thailand, after she wandered away from her accommodation in the early hours of October 29. The local police launched an intensive search after the girl's mother, Courtney Michelle Young, reported her missing around 3 a.m. The coordinated effort by Bang Lamung Police and Pattaya Tourist Police concluded successfully when Jazmyn was located unhurt.

The incident began when Jazmyn reportedly left her accommodation without a specific destination. Her frantic mother immediately sought help, triggering a swift response from law enforcement. Under the direction of Police Colonel Sarawut Nuchanart, teams worked quickly, enlisting the support of local residents to search for the missing child.

Jazmyn was found soon after and returned to her mother, who expressed immense relief. Police officers provided support during their reunion and reassured the family of their continued help. Following the incident, the Banglamung Police Station released a statement expressing gratitude to all involved parties for their effective collaboration.

The department emphasized the critical nature of public safety, particularly for vulnerable individuals. This case highlights the need for rapid response and cooperative community action in addressing missing person cases, especially those involving children with special needs.

While the specific details regarding where Jazmyn was found have not been disclosed, authorities confirmed she was unharmed and in good health. The family intends to stay in Pattaya temporarily, with police urging travelers with children or vulnerable individuals to maintain vigilance, particularly at night.

In a related case, another incident occurred in Chon Buri where a 63-year-old woman sought public assistance after her granddaughter went missing. The 12-year-old left home in the Si Racha district on July 29, intending to withdraw money but did not return, sparking concern.

Key Takeaways

  • A coordinated police and community search led to the safe recovery of Jazmyn.
  • The incident underscores the importance of rapid response for missing persons.
  • Police departments urge vigilance for families with vulnerable members.

Her parents should had made her wear an AirTag

Another good news story about the RTP.

Jer mother must have been frantic with worry about her daughter.

While the specific details regarding where Jazmyn was found have not been disclosed]

How weird. Why are they are not saying where she was found?

Why is that important?

A mother reunited with her autistic daughter is the story.

Pattaya is not a safe place for a 12 year old child to be wandering about alone at 3am. The irresponsible adults who brought a vulnerable child like her to a place like Pattaya and did not take proper care should be reprimanded.

A spelling police troll post and a reply has been removed:

  • The name Jazmyn is primarily a female name of Persian origin that means Jasmine Flower.

Justin Bieber's sister is named Jazmyn. I'm assuming you're American (I'm from Colorado so I know that logo well) so you may recall celebrities (or just anyone these days) who create new spellings for common names. I wouldn't make assumptions about the girls ethnic origin as this is fairly common.

BS

At 3 AM most 12 year old children are asleep in bed.

There is NO irresponsibility on the part of the parents and at the very least the mother was checking on her daughter, as ANY responsible parent would.

Yes, they're quite happy to give the full name of the mother, which is totally unnecessary, but not give details of where the girl was found.

Nothing so frightening!!

One of our kids 'disappeared' for about 40mins at a Centre Parks in the Nederlands........talk about bricking it.

Eventually found him, he'd been taken to the main reception by someone.

That someone, believe it or not, turned out to be our waitress at the restaurant we ate at that night.......almost left her a tip.

Being dyslexic I thought the parents had christened her Jazzmag.

Glad this story had a happy ending.Would have been so different in London.

Does it matter that much to you where she was found?

It seems from the report that she was found alive, well, unharmed and returned to her parents, which is all that DOES matter.

I'd say another poor parenting story.

Bloody lucky it happened in Thailand and not some other country, things could have ended much worse

Possibly some are intrigued as to whether she did simply walk a little distance from her home, or was there another person involved and possibly she was transported.

And IF she was transported, did somebody break into the place she was staying, wake her up, make sure that she was dressed, and then take her away from her family, ALL in complete silence, without waking her parents?

Well I was thinking of the possibility she was out walking herself and maybe someone picked her up.  She would have been quite vulnerable.

No, it doesn't matter to me that much and I didn't say it did, I simply remarked that they are happy to give out unnecessary personal details regarding the mother. Something that apparently went straight over your head.
