So Trump seems to be claiming all the credit (as he does) for the Thailand-Cambodia border conflict so called peace deal. He was obviously not the only one involved in the negotiation and Thailand calls it only a pathway to peace. That said, whoever deserves credit and whether or not it's a real peace deal, any progress in the direction of peace is welcome.

 

The POLL question here is do you agree with Mr. Trump that his actions saved MILLIONS OF LIVES in Thalland and Cambodia, or not? This stupendous claim is not something that can be objectively proven either way, so thus I think an opinion poll is in order.

That's an interesting distinction.

It's an objective fact that Trump lies with historically epic volume.

It's also a common assertion that he has mental issues -- narcissistic personality disorder mixed with dementia, etc.

It seemed to me and I think most people that it was a border conflict complicated with hidden "stuff" related to power personalities in both countries and scam fueled economy in Cambodia that had got out of hand. I never felt for a moment that it had potential to become a full blown war beyond the border areas. Of course I can't prove that. But it's not as if either side had any interest in conquering / occupying the other country which would be more typical in a full blown war.

A post with a derogatory and offensive slang term to belittle or mock individuals with differing political views has been removed.

Ahhh oookaaaa as I back slowly away…..not really I do think if you are serious you have been bamboozled…..anyway the conflict seems to to have calmed down and that’s a good thing!

This is one of the great dangers with the circus clown. Anytime you have a man who will say absolutely anything to try to give himself undue amounts of credit it is a potentially explosive situation. There was never any danger that significant numbers of Thais or Cambodians we're going to die from this rather small border conflict. I certainly question how much influence he really had when it came to resolving this situation. After all he is one of the world's worst negotiators, combined with being one of the world's biggest liars.
