Free healthcare for illegals is just another lie, Trumpeted by either Trolls or people who just parrot whatever they hear, without checking the facts for themselves.

MAGA frequent posters perfectly know it's a lie.....🙂

Technically they are correct. U.S. hospitals are required to provide emergency medical care to anyone who comes to their emergency department, regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status, under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). So sayeth the gospel according to Grok.

Not too smart if you didn't expect these things.
With great change comes great pain.  Conservatives expected this, odd that you didn't see it coming.

Retailers’ holiday hiring to hit lowest level since the Great Recession, says major industry trade group

Holiday hiring by retailers is expected to total between 265,000 and 365,000 roles this year, the lowest number of seasonal workers in at least 15 years, the National Retail Federation said Thursday...

Some companies may have hired seasonal workers early to support sales events in October, but retailers have largely tried to limit their spending as they manage higher costs from tariffs, NRF chief economist Mark Mathews said.

KOAT 7 interview: Woman who has been on SNAP for three decades fumes

https://pinonpost.com/koat-7-interview-woman-who-has-been-on-snap-for-three-decades-fumes/

"Federal investigators found:

  • A 40% surge in SNAP spending under the Biden administration.
  • Twenty-one Democrat-led states refusing to cooperate with federal data-sharing efforts designed to stop illegal immigrant access to benefits.
  • Thousands of fraudulent cases uncovered nationwide, including EBT cards used by deceased recipients.
  • Over 100 arrests tied to SNAP fraud rings exploiting the system."

Under old dementia Joe, snap benefits increased by 40%. There is a huge level of corruption under these benefits and the left wing Democrats want to see that continue. Only President Trump has the godads to try to stop this corruption.

What does this have to do with layoffs? Obsessed much with Biden?

You obviously did not read the original post and reply carefully.

And what does Biden's condition now have to do with this?

Are the Dems in power?

I did not know that,i thought it was Trump.

Nothing, obviously, but the MAGA fanboys are still hurting badly from the rogering they too on Tuesday, so they lash out, the poor darlings.😄

I know. It means that undocumented immigrants get free emergency healthcare in any case. In blue and red states alike.

So it's not about giving (or not) free healthcare to immigrants, it's about how free emergency healthcare (MAGAs always "forget" to mention emergency) should be funded, from federal taxes or state taxes.

Wouldn't it have been easier to just write, "Let them eat cake?"

The feds send all kinds of money to the states. That doesn't mean those payments are replacements.

It doesnt mean they aren't either.

Actually, if the law precludes it then it means exactly that. But if you've got proof otherwise share it with us.

States use their money, then the federal gub'ment sends money to the states.

Not under Trump, his  policy is to divide and conquer. You are following it 100%. Not only at the state level but at the city level. States and cities are fighting back by voting. The results not good for Trump.

how many times do you have to be told. It will take a 60 percent vote to get the ball rolling, Dems don't want to cooperate,

That’s just ignorant you are correct they cannot ditcate unless they have the votes…..they need to negotiate all stop 🛑 did you flunk civics?btw the dems in the senate put forward a bill to fund health care for a year but I’m sure trump won’t let little Mike act on it because he wants the ACA dead.

US companies announce most October job cuts in more than 20 years.
The Trump Slump begins...

According to the firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas (CG&C), job cuts are at the fastest pace since 2003, not 2020, and hiring rate is at a 14 year low. In the first ten months of 2024, firms announced 664,839 job cuts (CG&C). In the first ten months of 2025, job cuts are up 65% to 1,099,500. Some of this is the result of a slowing economy, while AI is also just beginning to impact human employment.

Some additional things that concern me....margin debt hit $1,000,000,000,000 for the first time ever.

The Wilshire 5000 used to scare people when it hit 100% of US GDP. Today it is 222% of US GDP.

The US is adding new Federal Debt at the rate of $50,000,000,000 per week.

Service on the Federal Debt is now $1,100,000,000,000 per year

Folks got spooked when the Fed's balance sheet hit $1 trillion back in 2008. Today it's $7 trillion.

The US will issue at least $2,200,000,000,000 in new debt in 2025. It will issue an even greater amount in 2026. Can the Fed buy any more? Foreigners are pulling back from funding their usual 30% of US Debt. Is a failed bond auction on the horizon?

A couple of subprime hedge funds under UBS have been shut down in the last few days. That can spook people about counterparty risk, and thus reduce market liquidity. It's a bit like 2007 when Bear had to close a couple of its funds. That took time to move through the market, but when it did....BOOM!

I try to think of an asset class that isn't in a bubble....equities? housing? gold? crypto? AI?

If AI is so great, why are 95% of AI firms losing money, and why did even Sam Altman go the Socialism route and say AI needs a government rescue, as it's "too big to fail".

Bubbles can last a while, but when every asset class is in a bubble while the labor market is shrinking...that never bodes well.
