Comparing Trump to the average person is silly. We need to stop comparing retirees on AN to Trump.Trump was born into an elite family.

But something else to consider is that many kids born in extremely rich families do absolutely nothing with their lives because they don't need to work. Trump was highly motivated. You can put a positive spin on that. He could have sat around doing pot all day his whole life.

And something else no one talks about. Trump doesn't need the stress of being President because he's already rich. You could argue that he's just doing it for a power trip, but if you're less cynical you could also argue that he's there for other reasons.

Yes lots of rich kids do drugs. Trump did lots of things. The average AN could not run a lemonade stand let alone be President.

Well, let's not compare the average AN guy to Trump.

Honestly, I was not exactly an over-achiever myself (chuckles).

I accepted my fate that I'm not and never will be a mover and shaker (lol).

Nothing wrong with that clip at all.

He doesn't talk like a normal politician, so it makes people nervous.

He's being nice to the people there.

People see him as a ruthless dictator. He seems like a nice guy to me, maybe only ruthless with thugs.

I don't want to start a new thread, but Trump just signed an executive order to crack down on flag burning.

Dictatorial or fair game?

Off topic.

Irrelevant order, only issued for the cult.

What can't be argued against is that Trump destroyed the extraordinarily successful business he inherited from his father. And if you're clueless you can argue that he isn't taking advantage of his office to mint money for his family businesses.

It's all scripted.

All the other politicians are just reading a script.

It's all polished.

Trump talks like an average Joe when he's adressing the crowd because he's trying to connect to them.

I don't know what you're talking about.

Trump Tower is one of the biggest skyscrapers in the world.

He's hardly a failed businessman.

Correct, which is why they like him. Too many good looking people is a great line.

Do you think that when a real estate developer fails, the buildings that it got built fall down too?

And his father was still very active in the business when Trump Tower was built.

Yeah, if it's bleeding too much money, it gets demolished.

Lots of rich kids struggle to run an inherited business empire. Jamie Packer has severe depression. There's no way you could do it.

To me he is the antithesis of everything a good man should be. Exactly the opposite of how I was raised. I guess we did not grow up the same at all. I fear for the world as to me he is dangerous, deranged, and simply an uncaring A hole with absolutely no class at all. That is the way most of the world sees him.

Why is he dangerous? He has been in power 4 years and 10 months.

Yeah like climate change con. Obama was a failure on unemployment and the economy. He also killed innocents with drones. Good voice but a wasted talent. He should have been on the right.

  • Second-quarter GDP growth revised up to a 3.8% rate
  • Consumer spending accounts for the upgrade to growth

Lemme see if I got this right:

Trump imposes massive taxes on American consumers purchasing imported products.

Consumers spend more.

Increased taxes = increased spending = increased GDP.

What a stable genius!  We can tax ourselves into prosperity!

2024, imported goods accounted for 12% of the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP), according to data from VisualCapitalist.

Tariffs are just a tax on US consumers although it makes a good battering-ram for US foreign policy. Retail buyers are being crushed.  My guess is that US voters will tell Trump how they actually feel about his administration and the Republicans supporting him in the Nov 3, 2026 Mid-terms.

Trump has his biggest problems coming. The Supreme Court, yes the one he attempted to stack is going to rule against him and his illegal tariffs.

A Trump Supreme Court tariff defeat would add to trade uncertainty

WASHINGTON, Nov 6 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court's tough questioning of President Donald Trump's global tariffs fueled increased speculation that they will be struck down, but raised the specter of additional chaos as he is widely expected to shift to other trade tactics in the wake of an adverse ruling.
On Wednesday during oral arguments, Supreme Court justices cast doubt on Trump's authority to impose tariffs under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), which contains no references to tariffs - only language on regulating imports during national emergencies declared by the U.S. president.
"Based on the questions posed by the justices, the IEEPA tariffs appear to be in jeopardy," said Damon Pike, a principal with BDO USA's customs and trade services practice.
He added that all the court's justices, except Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas, "seemed skeptical that IEEPA gives President Trump the power to levy unlimited tariffs on every product imported from every country around the world."
But Pike said if the Trump administration loses, it will simply invoke other trade laws, a view widely shared by trade lawyers, senior Trump administration officials, importing companies and analysts.

US Supreme Court casts doubt on legality of Trump's global tariffs

WASHINGTON, Nov 5 (Reuters) - U.S. Supreme Court justices raised doubts on Wednesday over the legality of President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs in a case with implications for the global economy that marks a major test of Trump's powers.
Conservative and liberal justices alike sharply questioned the lawyer representing Trump's administration about whether a 1977 law meant for use during national emergencies gave Trump the power he claimed to impose tariffs or whether the Republican president had intruded on the powers of Congress.

Hers some more words ,right out of the village idiots mouth. This lunatic needs help,ha s no idea at all of how to run a bussiness or a country.

"If I didn't have tariffs, the entire world would be in a depression." Donald Trump is not only the worst President in history, but he is the dumbest President. The Great Depression was when Republican President Herbert Hoover signed the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act.

Japan currently has a zero import duty on cars, meaning there are no tariffs on U.S. automobiles entering the Japanese market. However, the U.S. has implemented a 15% tariff on Japanese vehicles and auto parts as part of a recent trade agreement.  (AI)

It's all about "barriers."

How bigly dare those Japanese set impossibly high safety standards that only they can meet, and produce RHD vehicles we refuse to build, and manufacture vehicles small enough for their smaller roads!  We should demand they embiglify their infrastructure!

And that they drive cars on the right and and not in the wrong direction  😄
