A British man and a Thai national have been arrested in Pattaya for allegedly running an illegal online business selling sex toys, poppers and other prohibited items through QR code stickers posted around the city. The arrests followed a sting operation on the night of 11 November 2025, which authorities said was the culmination of weeks of public complaints about the advertising.

 

Police said the suspects operated under the brand PATTAYA POPPERS, whose stickers were found on power poles, walls and public fixtures across Pattaya. The ads linked to a website offering sex toys, poppers, erectile pills, condoms, drug paraphernalia and even narcotics. 

 

At 22:35 on 11 November, a joint task force led by Pol. Lt. Col. Arut Saphanont, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Pattaya City Police, carried out a controlled purchase of two bottles of poppers for 750 baht each. After confirming the sale, officers raided a rented house on Soi Sukhumvit 42/2, where they seized 110 sex toys, 180 bottles of poppers, 36 packs of erectile tablets, 35 pieces of drug paraphernalia and 11.2 grams of illicit drugs.

 

The suspects were identified as Sunthorn, 40, known as Belle, a Thai national, and Mr Gary Thompson,a British national. Both admitted to running PATTAYA POPPERS for about a year, saying they launched the sticker campaign six months ago after sales declined during Thailand’s economic slowdown. They told police they sourced stock from overseas suppliers and targeted mainly foreign customers.

 

According to police, the poppers were marketed as “leather cleaners” but were used by customers for their euphoric and arousal-enhancing effects. All seized items were taken as evidence, and the suspects were transported to Pattaya City Police Station. Authorities said charges were being prepared for the illegal sale of unregistered medical devices, controlled substances and drug offences.

 

The investigation is ongoing as police trace supply networks and other possible distributors. Officials said further arrests could follow as they continue to crack down on illicit online sales and public advertising of banned products.

yes you are right..... sex toys are not done ... better can promote vaping or kids on motorbikes without helmets and driverslicense.. I think there are much worst things to control than a dildo.. And if you are set up because of a dildo maybe some councelling would be an idea to enter the adult world

These things seem to be everywhere nowadays. The other day at my favourite model aeroplane shop I could hardly reach across to examine the Airbus.

 

Somehow I think the police and the people were far more upset about the stickers than the toys.
