Quick to the point....who here looks after themselves PHYSICALLY

Not to get fit but for Quality of Life

So you can walk up flights of stairs ,so you can do your shoelaces up

Belly's hanging over ,alcohol , smoking those vapes , big red noses , grey hair ,

This is what I see mostly in Thailand and Bali ,any expats

I try to walk 10,000 steps a day

I have to ADMIT this generation of old blokes in their 70's and 80's age are much fitter than the previous generations

All I remember when I was younger was old men with hats on with walking sticks or the old women bent over walking ... Bent backs

I don't see that anymore

I want to know do you look after yourself by exercising and quality of life

Drinking alcohol, eating rubbish , not doing any cardio , no flexibility

This is most of you

Do you need the Sun 🌞the neighbour to me died back in 2o21 of skin cancer so maybe not

Had it on his nose

Do you need a gym to get fit

Do you look after your body

How is your stamina at 80?

Are you walking with a stick and why ...why isn't your balance good ?

Is all the alcohol you drank in your young years now affecting you ?

There are people in my workplace who are nearly 80 and still fit

Why ? Having a routine that's why

Red wine ? Bad or good ?

Testereone injection at old age ,,bad or good ?

Jogging or fast walking ???

It's mostly to do with genes, it's the DNA you inherited.

Good diet, exercise and happiness helps

There is a simple answer to all that. Genetics and self-respect.

48 and I prefer to call it performance efficiency instead of ED.

Typical day in TH.....Walk a shared dog & hit our home gym just enough to feel a light burn in the morning..... Afternoon/evening 5-10k bicycle ride.... Easy on the knees & helps coordination and balance.....I can still bend over & flatten my palms against the ground....

194cm @ 94-100kg.....

No pot belly, no smoking, but will have a drink (moderately).....We don't do club/bar scene stuff....

Although.....

We are currently in the US and just got off a cruise ship = weight feels like it gained.....Only walking while here.....I usually intermittently fast, but haven't been since arriving here...

I'll be 79 in a few weeks. In my late 60s, I allowed myself to get really fat.  The negative effects on my body were huge. I told myself it was OK because I was getting old and didn't need to be in the condition of a 35-year-old any longer. But in my early 70's I got tired of feeling like a beached whale and unable to move.  My knees hurt, my feet hurt, I hurt. Even my self-mage hurt!
So I took off about 50-60 pounds and started climbing the stairs in my building every other day. I can easily (and quickly) climb 6-10 flights of stairs without huffing and puffing. My waist is 33", the same as when I was in my 30's, and I don't feel like I'm running out of energy all the time.  It's a choice we make, not a condition to excuse.
I play sports 3-4 times a week, not to stay healthy, but because I enjoy it. (I do NOT enjoy climbing the stairs...) And because I can!

Being healthy in our Senior years takes some work. But if you are using genetics as an excuse and not doing the work, you're just fooling yourself.

Wow...great work

When I was peering in doors in the flybird condominium I had to climb all 6 levels of stairs and it was no easy feat

Try sex

Last year, the bio test put me at age 58. This year, at age 56. I am aging backwards, like Benjamin Buttons. I am 73.

I have a trainer, I send him a picture of everything I eat. At the end of the day he sends me a text about it.

I’m currently on a cruise in Antarctica, and he told me to eat more pasta since it’s cold outside.

Healthy enough, can do anything I need or want to do, that doesn't involve lifting and bending too much.   Back not the best and not planning on aggravating it, so don't try.  Endurance is fine, and can walk more than a few kms.

Walked from the old rental to the house, or house to surf, and wife is like ... "you walked" :w00t:

Yea, it's only ~5 kms away 🙄  Cycling, 20-30, even 50 kms wouldn't be an issue, not that I've gone past 20 kms of late.

I'm fit enough, 55, cycle 100km 3-4 times a week, golf twice a week, never a cart, eat healthy high carb low fat. The social interaction you get whilst doing the above for example is as important as the exercise itself.

Since i started cooking at home my stomach is much happier, i suspected a cook, husband of a thai lady was trying to poison me to death with the food i was eating in their restaurant most days

It’s only 6,000 baht a month.

And that includes him coming over twice a week to correct my form. We decided to cut out the gym middleman.

Have you even spent that amount cumulatively at that moribund book graveyard called Canterbury Books?

my back is broken, i lay down in pain all day as i have been my whole adult life due to work injury,

i went back to sweden begging for surgery but doctors deny MRI analysis.

i look healthy tho, 195 cm 86 kg

True about fish and chips in Pattaya, sopping with oil, I'd feel nauseous soon after eating, probably the cheapest reused oil many times

Never would I spend that amount of money on anything !!

Never !

I would be horrified to,

Especially sending my food pictures to some guy young enough to be my son "am I eating right ?

Your lonely and want him to take notice of you

He "comes over to correct your form" ..for 6000 baht a month.

I mean make out that as you will

Well you have 10 years left so spend it up ,in all probability you won't be here in 15,so spend it up before the Thai family spivs & bludgers get it

I'm sure he is bending over forwards to help you out

...your a lonely old man who needs company so you pay some muscular young guy to dote over you  telling you your hip thrusts are not "thrusting " enough !!

It's the highlight of your week to have a muscle-bound boy tell you "thrust your hips higher Daddy ! Do it Daddy !

Sad old man
