How many hours per day do you spend on AN?

Featured Replies

Honest question. I’ve been wondering… some people post dozens of times a day, which makes me curious how anyone finds time for a life offline too. Does anyone actually track how many hours they spend here? What’s a typical daily AN routine like? Scheduled meal breaks at least? Some people seem to spend hours reading and replying to all kinds of idle dialogue. And some posts make me wonder how anyone has the time or energy to type so much about… well, pretty much nothing. What keeps those types coming back every day? Lonely obsession?

  • What you do is perfectly normal, you don't require medication.    You should control your anger though, I see you getting hostile at times with other members. This can affect your health.

  • When I get up I turn my PC on, then it is on all day. One of my tabs is this forum, so it looks like I am on here all day when I am actually not............😉

  • Great question.    I reckon there's a few here who have an addiction, probably should get therapy and take medication.    I like the members who reply with 1000 word comments.

To many, but I do work, at gym  and do things during the day, but still to much here.

In lack of better things to do. I guess it is a vacuum when I run a company and had focus 24/7 and need some distractions in the daily life and a bit bored.

Unhealthy, yes, waste of time, yes, is it productive? Nope, does it give my anything, nope

Is it addiction? Yes, is it an bad habit? Yes

And why are you coming back?

I include AM as well as many other newsworthy sites. Small number of posters i follow assists me is discretionary  readings.

Substitute for friends as its an option I choose given my desire to stay informed.

Easy to do on the phone while listening to podcasts or watching videos and movies. Right now in a coffee shop easy to have a quick look and post, same facebook

Omg these guys have no life 😂

Actually, it's quite sad, I shouldn't make fun, I apologise.

Get some help guys, there's a help line you can call

The Russian trolls likely get paid (or however the slave labor in Russia works) to post all their nonsense here and other similar sites.

I think alcohol addiction and living  alone in their home country unable to return to Thailand as often as they would like would be a significanct factor to consider some peoples posting habits.

Strange,  most activity on the forum is prime time Thai time.

How do you explain that?

Circuses are painfully stupid, but can still be fun to watch in small doses. I think that describes plenty of people who visit forums briefly as part of a daily doom scrolling routine without becoming obsessed, replying to everything, or letting it interfere with their daily responsibilities. Even if you argue that you have plenty of free time because you don’t have other commitments, it’s still a waste to spend multiple hours a day on a site that yields nothing. Those are hours that could be spent on something more productive and fulfilling. And I can see some on this site are totally lost in that department. They've got nothing but their keyboard left to live for. Sad.

I sit by the computer about 8-10 hours a day, and just get a notice when messages comes in. Sometimes turn off notification as it disturbs my work

Funny how you don't see any of the 18 hour a day trolls coming near this topic. 😂

Happiness comes in many ways and forms.

So what is your secret?

Thanks for asking.

I was blessed at birth with quality genes, inherited DNA from my parents, these genes keeps me in a positive mindset. My children often reminded of my positivity, my attitude reflects onto them, learning from me.

6 healthy ,happy children, have a large family and a small circle of close friends makes a difference, it's important.

A good diet with regular exercise is required for longevity but a long healthy life cannot exist without happiness.

I'm often concerned at the many nasty, hurtful, hate comments I see on forums.

Guys take care out there, it's affecting your health, stay happy
