Buying ten drinks?

Ringing the bell is just a term used for 'inviting a member of staff to leave early' 🫣🤐

20-40 years ago it did not mean that at all. It meant you were buying a round for the bar. Has that really changed?

Nope but sometimes it is just for the girls. That can be painful enough.

No.  In the specific example given the bar uses "ring the bell" as a euphemism for "barfine".  You can be 100% sure that actually ringing the bell in a Nana go-go will cost you a lot more than ฿1000.

That was never the case back in the glory days. I remember some guys just walking into a bar, buying zero drinks, but bar fining a girl they liked.

Maybe it's fewer customers these days, so they have to fleece the few that still come... 😆

I have never and would never 'ring the bell' but either me or my friend did 'invite a member of staff to leave early'

I guess that the bar team uses this term for that.

Does that answer your question?

Yep

Say........

1500 baht lady drinks

1000 baht barfine

**** baht her money

It adds up

I haven't paid a bar fine in about 20+ years, I Cant believe they are that high now and people are paying that!

I remember when bars fines were 200-300 THB,  LT 1000-1200 THB

So what is the going rate for  a LD in a beer bar, say 150 baht?

Plus a bar fine? That is of course before you have to pay for the girl?:whistling:

I'd rather do it myself!

<deleted> them. Whenever I happen to be told so in such a bar or a gogo I just stand up and leave.

The most greedy bar owners are foreigners. Soon we will have to ask if the owner is Thai or not.

Thai owned places are doing it too. If anything they are more random on the arrangements. The 'groups' usually have consistent policies. Either use the in house facilities, or go elsewhere not on soi 6. Ridiculous, 10 LDs minimum (2000b ?), +barfine, plus her LT stipend comes to a fair old total. Irritating to learn too, when already a couple of LDs in.

If you can't recall which one of you bar fined a dancer, how can you be questioning the amount of lady drinks they hit you with?

Anywat, sounds like you had a great night out. I did buy my NEP "bell ringer" three tequilas before we headed for the door the other week. Total sweetheart, stayed until check out time, no stupid or nosey questions either like how old are you, or where's your wife, or is it usually this soft? Very attentive, excellent kisser and totally giving. All in all, the best value I've had since the last time I had good value.

As not a person who goes to Go Go bars nor these type of establishments I must ask if this is indeed true?

Watching a updated YouTube video by a lovely Pattaya YouTuber he mentioned in Soi 6 the customer must buy a minimum of 10 drinks before the barfine of company

Is this true ?

And I may I ask those who have academic business experience,is this designed more for the tourist customer the 2 week millionaire ?

Is that what they are after ?

I have never heard or seen this on either soi 6 or anywhere in Pattaya. You could walk in a buy yourself one drink and make an offer to a woman should you choose to talk to her first.

Even short timer girls who sex you upstairs do not ask for a mandated amount of drinks prior to paying the bar fine to go upstairs on soi 6.

Gogo bars are making a killing in bar fines. Why would they require a 10 drink minimum?

I very much can remember who did and didn't do what with regards to the bf... just thought being vague online is more responsible. 🤐😉

After 10 drinks a barfine would be pointless for me. A stretcher back to my lodgings would be better.

Include an IV in the arm and oxygen mask on my face just for starters

Ten drinks? Wouldn’t have the time nor patience (or money) to buy Jessica Alba 10, let alone some of those lazy munters.

Same here. Never been a go-go, Soi 6 or Walking St regular, plenty ladies on offer in the ordinary bars when I first arrived. Barfine 150 and all night 500, why pay more.?

Prices much different now as are the bars, ladies and punters but the principle is more or less the same. There's more in Pattaya than go-gos, soi6 and Walking St.

Some of us prefer the ones not past menopause.

But Soi 6 is the most frequented street for tourists along with Walking Street.

Makes sense that they would try to milk the tourists as much as possible since tourists don't watch their wallets since they're only there a couple of weeks and they have no time to compare how things work in other bars, so they don't know the difference.

Also, due to high visibility and foot traffic, Soi 6 might be the most expensive real estate. Bar owners need to pay higher rents than out of the way bars, hence the greedy tactics.

No one said capitalism was fair.

Yep, it's definitely greed. They milk the 2 week millionaires who don't know better. But the news travel fast now, just check various Facebook groups, reddit etc. They got away with it for some time but it will come back to bite them in the ass.

Ah, so being married may not be as expensive as I think it is. I’m just trying to work out the value of two short times and one long time most days for twenty plus years …lol
