A foreign woman collapsed on Phuket's Bangla Road on November 27, reportedly after consuming a cannabis-infused snack. Her companion, allegedly her boyfriend, refused first aid from rescue workers, drawing attention from bystanders who recorded the event. The Patong Development Foundation was notified by a local business operator upon witnessing the woman's condition.

Foundation members attempted to assist, but the woman's boyfriend declined their help, leaving rescue workers unable to intervene beyond observation. Photos showed the man trying to revive her, but she appeared unresponsive. The outcome of the situation remains unconfirmed by the foundation.

This occurrence follows a previous incident where an Indian travel blogger and her friend were hospitalized in Krabi due to consuming cannabis gummies. The duo had to undergo IV treatment, missed their flight to India, and incurred a 36,000 baht hospital bill. The blogger's claims of being scammed were met with skepticism by Thai netizens, who noted that she chose to purchase the gummies and that private hospital fees can be costly for everyone.

Additionally, a case in Chiang Mai involved a two-year-old girl at risk of brain damage after accidentally consuming cannabis gummies. This has led to demands for tighter regulations on cannabis edibles, urging businesses to reconsider selling products resembling children's snacks. Public concern is growing over the safety and regulation of cannabis-infused products, particularly those appealing to unintentional consumers, reported The Thaiger.

Key Takeaways

  • A foreign woman in Phuket fell unconscious possibly due to a cannabis snack.
  • Previous incidents spotlight issues with cannabis edibles in Thailand.
  • There are increasing calls for stricter cannabis product regulations.

Yes! Gummy chewing Brits on every street corner ! Restaurants full of brits ordering gummies and chips ! Collapsing gummers on every sidewalk and other Brit gummers attempting to revive them. ! Worse than the walking dead ! Off with their ‘rads I say ! Lol.

These days the THC levels are so high that it's not uncommon for people who are not accustomed to using it to pass out. It's not a big deal, you just sleep it off, you wake up, you feel a little drowsy and you get on with your day. He refused help because he knew that there was really nothing that they could have done for her, she used too much and he knew that they just needed to wait a few hours to wait until it wore off.

Stupid decision by the boyfriend.  It could have been a lot worse and he would have regretted it for the rest of his life.

Yes, thc levels can be waaaay too high nowdays. For those who buy it, you better make sure of the quality of the product you buy and its thc level.

It is actually quite a big deal unless you want that effect? I went into a pub in London about 40 years ago and saw a beer label which I looked the look of ... mistake... Old Jock ! One pint and I was singing .... in Irish in the west end of london.

My point I was making is that it's not really dangerous per se, like many other drugs that one can overdose on and pay a severe price for.

When she collapsed she could have hit her head on the edge of a kerb, causing serious skull and brain damage!

Where does it say she collapsed?   it is far more likely, speaking from personal experience ,that she deliberately lay down.

not exactly?  unless you have evidence of previous incidents of this nature in sufficient quantity for it to be considered "typical"  which I guarantee you do not.you should retract that remark

I have already self flagellated and shamefully publicly recognised my mistake with a reply to another member, just 3 posts back, but you knew that already yet could not resist the urge.   Ex schoolteacher by any chance?

No, a long way off. Ex - Forensic expert with the UK Police Service. You originally asked me a question and I replied.

Not only. if you eat it it'll take longer time to realize the effect compared to smoking it, if smoking you'll  know more or less instantly.

Ahhh an "expert"    and not  just a standard one but  an "ex- expert "    that explains it. Not much different from teachers so  I wasn't far off

This true....Its not hard to eat a massive dose of weed unknowingly......People who maybe have never tried weed think I love eating a whole handful of gummies..

  • 2 weeks later...

They should ban it completely.
