Trump to suspend immigration from all "Third World Countries"

image.jpeg.2fff4ef2eb451a701de94f61eef3d73a.jpeg

President Donald Trump detonated a political shockwave Thursday night, announcing on Truth Social that he will “permanently pause migration from all Third World countries” — a sweeping suspension of immigration from developing nations that would represent one of the most dramatic border measures in modern U.S. history.

The declaration comes in the wake of Wednesday’s deadly shooting near the White House, where a National Guard member was killed and another critically wounded. The suspect, 29-year-old Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, entered the U.S. in 2021 as part of the Afghan evacuation following the troop withdrawal. His asylum claim was approved earlier this year, during Trump’s own presidency, according to DHS officials.

The administration has seized on the incident as evidence of systemic failure, launching a blitz of tightened immigration reviews. The White House confirmed a “full-scale, rigorous reexamination” of all green-card holders from 19 “countries of concern” — including Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, Yemen, Sudan, Haiti, Cuba, Libya and Venezuela — alongside a new review of all asylum cases granted under Joe Biden.

Trump’s post went even further. He promised to terminate the status of migrants admitted under Biden and deport anyone he deems “not a net asset to the United States.” He pledged to cut federal benefits for non-citizens and expel any foreign national considered a security risk or “non-compatible with Western Civilization.”

The president did not specify a timeline, legal mechanism, or which nations qualify under his “Third World” designation — leaving substantial ambiguity about implementation. CBS News says the White House has not yet clarified.

Federal prosecutors say the DC shooting suspect had lived with his family in Washington State before driving cross-country to carry out the attack. The CIA confirmed Thursday that Lakanwal previously worked with U.S. forces in Kandahar as part of an allied unit disbanded after the 2021 withdrawal.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

  • Trump vows to pause immigration from all “Third World countries.”

  • Suspect in DC attack is Afghan national admitted in 2021; asylum granted this year.

  • White House launches sweeping green-card and asylum reviews across 19 nations.

That is what happens when you are sinking in the polls. You try to appeal to the worst of society, in order to get a rise out of them.

Well he is certainly showing Starmer how things can and should be done. I'm just a little surprised that this is not the default position of every developed country at the moment considering the constant threat of attack from the islamists , and the burden these immigrants place on the infrastructure of wherever they go.

Nobody , other than any 3rd world nationals who were perhaps planning a trip there, has any reason to complain about this

Unfortunately, refugees are not in a position to choose their destination. I certainly choose not to go to the US.

Are you having a laugh ?   For example,  Do you think those that  end up in the UK do so purely  by accident ?    :cheesy:

I hope this applies to H1B and L1 Indians and Pakistanis. A lot of the Mexicans, especially from northern Mexico, can get a pass. But most of South and Central America, except Argentina, should be locked out too. Frankly, I would also make all BRICS ineligible just because they are from hostile, anti-American countries.

Yep.

He knew there would be violence in reaction to sending in military to US cities,
The ridiculous overreaction to it was definitely part of his plan,

Forget the irrelevant poles, He is not appealing to the "worst of society" at all.    He is preventing the "worst of society" from increasing in numbers.    The second most "worst in society" are predictably outraged about this

If you're referring to the DC killer, there is something going on far more than a "ridiculous overreaction" in my view. He lived in Washington state, near the Canadian border. Only if he lived in Hawaii or Alaska could he be farther from DC. And he drove by personal vehicle to DC, some 2800 miles. Had his target merely been the National Guard because he was triggered by them, there are multiple, closer deployments he could have reached in much less time and much more securely--he was armed with a .357 his entire trip. I for one will be interested to see where the money trail leads. The killer was unemployed. Who paid for his family, his apartment, his personal vehicle, his .357, and his multi-day trip across the US? A wealthy Washington state family (I'll not give the name for reason Doxxing by mistake) apparently funded the family's stay and maintained a GoFundMe account for them, which only in the last few days was taken offline.

have you seen the appalling state of these once great American cities, now infested with  Prostitutes, Zombified drug abusers, and general human detritus.  Its gone that far I think its too late for even the Marines to clean the mess up .

Some sort of compact nuclear device might just still prove effective if used sooner rather than later

You completely missed my point.

For Trump the details about that individual are irrelevant.

He was looking for and waiting for a triggering excuse to go even more full blown with his draconian xenophobic Christian white nationalist immigration actions,

Who (culture & ideology )in their right mind would dispute the tragedies of mass migrations!

 Any  guess?

Complete rubbish. Legal immigration will continue just not people who are going to rip off or burden the system.

Possibly the ones not involved in the fraud. Those involved in the fraud would be quite well off I'd imagine.

Trump's chaos is destabilizing. As a result, people have forgotten how destabilizing were  Biden's trans/DEI/open borders. You can get away with a lot of things as president, but you can't get away with making people wake up every day and feeling the earth has shifted under their feet. The people who wanted DeSantis were right. Maybe the people who want Rubio and not Vance are right, now.
