Reading the neighbour’s comments, it sounds like he escaped for some peace. Funny reading through the thread, though — all the AN members convincing themselves that their wives would be beside themselves if they went missing for just a day. More like scrambling through the filing cabinet trying to locate the life insurance policy! Thai women are great actors. 🙂

Why would she wait a month ?

He left after a loy krathong festival so I'm guessing it would be dark then . This would maybe lead to him possibly being wiped out on some quiet road by a vehicle that didn't see him until last minute or was speeding and they have hidden his scooter and body .

Or insurance job if he had life insurance. Did they try tracking his phone location or last known signal ping area 🤔

Absolutely,  the follow-up story to this is gonna be a hum dinger.

run baby run: maybe got tired supporting her and half of her village

Great observation 👍

I think those scooters can go faster than that. That's without any modification.

A bigger impediment would be where he could go on it. Much of the highway infrastructure isn't pedestrian friendly let alone mobility scooter friendly.

Good point 🤔

So there I am enjoying my morning coffee in the UK , asked my Thai wife what she would do if I went missing? (if I was not back for my evening meal, she would report me missing) Showed her the photo, she exclaimed that's **** husband!  ( my wife had the same photo on her phone) There is some ambiguities in this story, they have been together at least ten years? The wife told my wife he was  missing on the 8th November. In my opinion their relationship was volatile!  After many beers he has probably found a new love!

Just check for the TM-30 that he filed wherever he ended up - that's an absolutely foolproof way to locate any foreigner in Thailand 🧐

last time I did that was pre covid !

The Police should definitely be looking at the bank records, phone calls and messages on the phone.

Additionally contact the husbands mobile phone provider and see what towers his phone pinged last.

Additionally seems strange none of his friends or family were calling or messaging the wife to find out what was going on.

My missus would be ringing all our friends in a few hours and be beside herself by the next day.

Correct. A whole month with no access to an ATM. May be she did have the ATM card and the funds have now dried up.

FWIW, this is a little further down in the linked Thaiger article:

One woman claiming to be a neighbour wrote that rumours circulating in the community did not match the details Phavika gave to the media. She expressed sympathy for the missing man and speculated that he may have simply moved elsewhere to feel more at ease.

Two other women, also believed to be neighbours, accused Phavika of being “sharp-tongued”. They suggested her harsh words may have driven her foreign husband away.

Nothing like a bit of Isaan village gossipers to spice up the tale. Excellent.

If he was in a chair he would not go far and waiting a mth sounds abit funny and why wait so long.Has the money stopped,my friend lives in udon maybe i can ask her where did u put him

Only if they are still alive!

Two years maybe she still thought she was with a Thai man just took off then it fawn on her after a month because she didn't get her allowance.

Also follow the money?

In a serious note hope he is OK🤔🤔

And then, if she speak the truth:

It would be better if he left Thailand, as then she would know he´s alive. Very few persons go missing 1 month will be found alive.

Last option: The guy just went out of his tricycle, left the dog, changed name, took plastic surgery and are now happy staying with a 25 year old.

Follow the money, solved!

The situation highlights the lack of care she had for the man. To wait a month to try finding him shows a complete lack of care or concern. My wife would think i found another woman or ran off to escape the marriage if i disappeared for more than a day without contacting her in some way.

It would not surprise me if this Thai woman conspired to rid herself of the man to get his money.

He is in a wheelchair. Thailand is not known for being handicapped friendly so he would not have been able to do a lot alone.

It seems like her lawyer has advised her to officialy report him missing to clear the way for her to get his money.Otherwise had  he just left her  and he didn't have any money that she can get her hands on  she would't bother reporting.

He is alive and kicking nowty wrong upstairs , lawyers getting involved, worry not Local  Expats know and could tell stories about the lady in question.
