A 33-year-old Mexican-Canadian tourist died on the afternoon of 9 December after falling from the ninth floor of a hotel in Patong, Phuket, just hours after checking in. Police said the woman, identified only as Miss Denise, was found in the parking area of the hotel on Thaweewong Road in Kathu district at around 13:50. The incident prompted an immediate response from Patong Police, Phuket Tourist Police, the provincial Tourist Assistance Center, and a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital.

Hotel staff told police the woman had checked in alone at 13:30 for a one-night stay and was due to check out on 10 December. Officers said her sandals were later found placed on the balcony of her ninth-floor room in a way that suggested she had stepped out before the fall. The discovery formed a central part of the early investigative focus as authorities sought to determine how the fall occurred.

Police Capt. Channarong Prakongkuea of Patong Police Station confirmed that officers were working with both the Mexican Embassy and relevant provincial agencies following the death. Investigators examined the scene extensively, including the hotel car park where the woman’s body was discovered. The presence of multiple agencies indicated the seriousness with which authorities were approaching the incident, particularly as it involved a foreign national carrying dual Mexican and Canadian passports.

The woman’s body was initially transferred to Patong Hospital before being moved to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a full autopsy. Officials said the autopsy would be essential in establishing the precise cause of death and determining whether any external factors were involved. The outcome of the examination will also help inform the final police report, which will be shared with foreign authorities and the victim’s family.

Khaosod reported that police said further steps would include a review of hotel CCTV footage, additional interviews with staff, and coordination with embassy representatives. As investigations continue, authorities are expected to release more details once forensic results are available. The case remains open pending autopsy findings and a formal assessment of all evidence gathered.

This happens way to often. In my regular hotel in Bangkok the window against the street have a metal bar that only allow the window to open a little bit.Not possible to climb out.The same the balcony areas have metal bars avoiding people to climb thru or jump from.Easy to prevent but some hotels don't care.

The hotels should hang chicken wire on the balconies to deter tourists from popping off.

This is a myth. There is no exceedingly low balconies in any of the main hotels in Thailand

The person who died is an infamous plastic surgery addicted influencer who clearly had mental issues

I always deplore the death of anyone as a sad event. Prayers to her family.

On the other hand, the little devil sitting on my left shoulder is wispering in my ear "given the amount of silicone in her, I'm surprised she didn't bounce back."

Go on, you all had that thought cross your mind at one point...

I have seen her photos of huge massive tits, lean over any rail with those and well .....:coffee1:
