65-inch new TV...Which one would you buy right now ?

LG ? I think Samsung or LG have the best panel tech right now...? QLED or something with AI chips integrated to optimise the screen ?

They all seem to be around the 15-19k mark that I have seen for Samsung and LG so far....

Hoping someone did the DEEP DIVE recently that's a tech fanatic can chime in...!

I guess with TCL you can get 70 or 75-inch for Samsung/LG prices...?

I like hisense as they copied the colour profiles of Sony I was told...the inky blacks and not over-vivid colours...LG-Samsung tend to the vivid by default but I guess they have diferent colour profiles at the tap of a button...

Get 75"

Samsung 75" 20k in Makro (1 year warranty)

TCL 75" 16k on Lazada (3 year warranty)

I prefer the TCL 75", had mine 2 years now, no problems at all of any kind.

And if it breaks after 3 years, that's a good excuse to buy the TCL 85", now only 25k from Lazada.

Very cool...i'll check out both...I never go to Makro actually - now or before.

Another thumbs up from me for TCL.

I bought the 75 inch model for the kitchen this year and it’s a fantastic set, from Lazada in the sale of course

Bought a TCL  a few months ago to replace an LG, great picture and sound

Best specs in your price range.

65' LG UHD AI UA73 4K Smart TV 2025 (65UA7350PSB).

I’ve settled on LG after years of using Samsung, mainly due to better remotes, a smoother operating system, and generally easier connectivity in my experience.

For context, I did also own an LG OLED (65" C5), which cost around ฿55,000. It’s the best TV picture I’ve ever seen in the ฿50k price bracket.

https://www.lg.com/th/tv-soundbars/4k-uhd-tvs/65ua7350psb/

On TVs, ‘AI’ does four main things, none of them magical.

  1. Picture upscaling
AI watches what’s on screen and tries to upscale lower-resolution content (HD, SD, streaming compression) to look better on a 4K panel.
In practice: edges look cleaner, noise is reduced, faces look less blocky.
LG is actually quite good at this compared to budget brands.

  2. Picture adjustment
The TV analyses the scene (bright room, dark scene, sports vs film) and tweaks:

  • brightness

  • contrast

  • sharpness

  • colour temperature

This saves you from fiddling with settings. You can still override it.

  1. Motion smoothing / artefact control
    AI tries to reduce:

  • judder in panning shots

  • blur during fast motion (sports)

Sometimes this is helpful, sometimes it creates the dreaded ‘soap opera’ look — which is why most people turn parts of it down or off.

  1. Sound tuning
AI adjusts audio profiles based on:

  • dialogue vs music

  • room acoustics (very rough guess, via mic)

  • volume level

It won’t replace a soundbar, but it can make TV speakers less awful.

What AI does not do:

  • It doesn’t make an LED look like OLED.

  • It doesn’t add real detail that isn’t there.

  • It doesn’t fix a bad panel.

Bottom line:
AI is mostly smart auto-settings + better upscaling. On decent brands (LG, Sony), it’s genuinely useful. On cheap TVs, it’s mostly a sticker.

LG ทีวี NANO80

Better one maybe ?

Both models belong to LG’s 2025 TV lineup, so they are released in the same generation year.

Which is the more advanced / higher-tier model?

Even though both are 2025 models:

  • NANO80 is the higher-tier series (NanoCell series).

  • UA73 is the entry-level UHD 4K series.

Simple ranking (from higher to lower series)

  1. NanoCell (NANO80) – better color reproduction (NanoCell layer), slightly better processing for color and viewing angles.

  2. UHD (UA73) – more basic panel, cheaper, good for general viewing.

Summary

  • Newer generation?
Neither is newer; both are 2025 models.

  • Better/more premium model?
NANO80 is the superior and higher-tier model.

I recently bought a Hisense 65E8Q mini LED for 15,500 baht, maybe even less now on the 12/12 lazada sale. I already had a 75Q7C TCL mini LED TV (cost 31,000) and i find the pictures on both of these are fantastic, for the money. I have previously had Samsung and LG but they both failed within 3 years, so why pay more?

It should be better — the specs are stronger — so expect it to cost a little more. If it were me, I’d go to a store and look at a few models side by side, just to be sure you like the picture. LG is a solid brand. It just comes down to what you’re willing to pay and what picture quality you’re comfortable with.

..... and how long you want it to last ..........

LG 1 year warranty

TCL 3 year warranty

If LG don't think their TV will last more than 1 year, why would I?

A big thing to consider nowadays is the operating system and ram/rom memory. TCL etc are usually android OS with playstore , so can load up all the usual streaming apps (can even run email/banking apps), but they can be a little lite on memory so a couple of big apps , apps with big libraries (like Kodi) , and you can start running out of memory with no/limited options for expansion. LG on the other hand, run their WebOS operating system which doesn't have access to playstore and can be very restricted with the apps you can run, and even less options to manage memory.

One of the main specs to look for nowadays is plenty of rom/ram, and a decent multicore processor.

TCL every time for us now. Best value for money and faultless.

Had too many past issues with South Korean or Japanese products when it comes to monitors or TVs, China is winning at the moment.

There is a bit of history to be aware of, in 2020 TCL bought Samsung and LGs LCD screen factories and all the patents. So TCL is now the worlds biggest LCD screen manufacturer, and now makes all of Samsung's (and others) LCD screens, Samsung and LG still makes most of their own O/QLED screens, and even make them for each other.

Really? I have 4 Samsung Smart TV's. The oldest one is 8 years old and they are all going strong after heavy usage.

I use Samsung phones so I love the ease/reliability of connectivity using SmartView on the phone to cast Monomax from my phone to the TV to watch Premier League games.

I had one failed after 18 months, 2500bht repair, failed again 6 months later ..... chucked it away.

Samsung tab failed after 2 years, Samsung fridge failed after 6 years, Samsung air-con failed after 3 years.

My TCL Google TV has Monomax android app on it, no need to cast.

That's strange, all our Samsung stuff lasts for ages, fridge/freezer is 17/18 years old, and still makes ice, though new compressor a couple of years back.....🤔

Agree, Samsung was good 20 years back, not so good today!

16 years back my first TV purchase in Thailand was a Samsung flat screen TV, MIL still uses it.

A 12:12 or similar discount often applies to both phone APP and purchases through PC browser.

A TV drops from 50K to 30K to 14K Baht. You got to love these Asia online shenanigans for budget spec TV's

no such 12:12 discount is indicated on my PC.

I will check again tomorrow.

It will likely appear on the starting date whatever that is. Of course if you want to join the Lazada 'follow me round the world club', install the app for purchases and use the PC to research the product
