Yep. This is too strange and unpractical to be true/to be applied.

 

Also, there are quite many people who really don't currently have any social media accounts (including many who have NEVER had one). What will happen to them ? Will the immigration folks assume that such people are lying and deny them entry ?!

It's always been a possibility for Canadians for years to have their phone/computer searched on entry to the US.

I was asked once when travelling to our Houston office, I started to hand it over as soon as asked and was told to move along.

Border agents in all countries are looking for a reaction.
