A shoot-out between rival teenagers in Nong Prue, near Pattaya, left an 18-year-old convenience store employee injured and damaged a resident’s vehicle, prompting a large police response and an urgent search for the gunmen. The incident occurred at the entrance of Soi Nongprue 4 in Bang Lamung district, where officers from Nong Prue Police Station were alerted to gunfire, injuries and property damage. Responders found the victim, identified as Natthaphat, with a gunshot wound that pierced his right arm before he was rushed to hospital.

Nearby, officers discovered a white Toyota Fortuner bearing Chon Buri plates with bullet damage on the front right side. The car’s owner reported hearing three to four gunshots while driving home and feeling the vehicle being struck, only realising the extent of the damage after stopping. The owner also learned that the shop employee had been hit by a stray round during the same gunfire.

Witnesses at the scene described seeing a black sedan without licence plates, accompanied by four to five motorcycles ridden by teenagers, parked in the area shortly before the shooting. One witness, sensing trouble, drove past before later seeing the same black sedan approach with around seven to eight youths inside, one of whom opened fire three to four times. Police say this group is believed to be linked to an ongoing dispute with another local youth group.

According to the rival group, the attackers had visited another house on 9 December, firing three shots into the air and issuing a challenge, promising to meet “any time.” They stated that the same group returned on the day of the shooting, waiting near the scene before opening fire. The escalating conflict has resulted in multiple violent incidents in the neighbourhood.

In a related development, Pattaya City Police received reports of teenagers chasing and attacking one another with knives, with one victim riding to South Pattaya for help after suffering a serious hand injury. The injured youth told officers the assault occurred near the same area as the Nong Prue shooting, suggesting both incidents stemmed from the same conflict. Police are examining the connection between the two cases.

Naewna reported that investigators have recovered three spent cartridges and a knife sheath from the shooting site. Police are now reviewing CCTV footage, interviewing witnesses and speaking to all injured parties to determine the motive behind the clashes. Officers have deployed additional patrols in the area and say all suspects will be tracked down and prosecuted.
