Immigration Police in Phuket have arrested a Kazakh national wanted under an Interpol Red Notice for fraud, after tracing him to a residence in the provincial capital. The suspect had allegedly fled criminal proceedings in Kazakhstan and was found hiding in Thailand. Authorities said the arrest reflects strengthened international cooperation in tracking transnational fugitives.

The arrest was confirmed on 16 December 2025 by Pol Col Charoenpong Khantilo, Superintendent of Satun Immigration and spokesperson for Immigration Division 6. He said Phuket Immigration officers acted after receiving intelligence from the Foreign Affairs Division identifying a man named Mr Adilet, a Kazakh national, as the subject of an international arrest request. The Red Notice had been issued by Kazakhstan in connection with a fraud case.

The operation was carried out by a team from Phuket Immigration led by Pol Lt Col Wisarut La-iat-ong, Deputy Superintendent of Phuket Immigration, together with Pol Lt Col Wiroj Srisopa, Pol Lt Col Adison Boonchum and Pol Capt Sitthidet Thongmee. Officers conducted surveillance and investigative work to confirm the suspect’s whereabouts. They established that he was living in Muang district, Phuket province.

After identifying his location, officers devised a plan to make contact with the suspect without causing public disruption. He was invited to meet immigration officers, where his identity was verified against international databases. Once confirmed, officials formally notified him of the revocation of his permission to remain in the Kingdom of Thailand.

The suspect was taken into immigration custody without resistance. Phuket Immigration then coordinated with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Thailand to begin procedures for his removal from the country. Authorities said he will be deported to Kazakhstan to face legal proceedings under that country’s justice system.

Immigration officials said the case highlights Thailand’s role in supporting international law enforcement efforts, particularly in preventing the country from being used as a refuge by foreign fugitives. They added that close cooperation with overseas counterparts and diplomatic missions remains essential to managing cross-border crime.

Naewna reported The Immigration Bureau reiterated that individuals subject to international warrants or Red Notices will be tracked and detained if found in Thailand. Officials said ongoing information sharing with foreign agencies enables faster identification and action against suspects involved in serious offences abroad. Further details on the fraud case will be handled by Kazakh authorities following the suspect’s return.

Key Takeaways

• Phuket Immigration arrested a Kazakh national wanted on an Interpol Red Notice for fraud.

• The suspect’s permission to stay in Thailand was revoked before he was taken into custody.

• Thai authorities are coordinating with Kazakhstan to deport him for prosecution.

Well, seeing these gentlemen in the background, I do wonder who the real villains are.
Incidentally, it seems that everyone is welcome at LOS.

I guess the question that needs to be asked is how come the red notice didn't flag him at Immigration when he arrived in Thailand?  The same for the woman arrested on a red notice in another thread in ASEAN NOW today.

The question maybe was the red notice issued before or after arrival?

I would think it very likely that a person fleeing the law in their own country would have already entered the country in which they seek to hide well before Interpol becomes involved and raises a Red Notice.

A fair point, but perhaps he was ultimately flagged late due to beaurocracy. Ultimately , he was caught, so all’s well that ends well.

That is very likely. He probably knew what he was doing.

Gee whiz. These Interpol Red notices are only observed in Thailand as long as it is a non-Thai national. Such as Red Bull. Amazing Thailand!

At least Thailand has got rid of a naughty person, who was probably up to no good...........

Looks like Bhuket is rapidly developing into the costa del crime that Spain had in the late 1970s and 80s for the criminal types.

Do Interpol red notices get issued. BEFORE the suspects leave the home country?

Large brown envelopes were handed out years ago, compensation has been paid to the family , no doubt far in excess of what the insurance will have paid out,

Everybody is sorted and has moved on, that's how things are often sorted out here, it's the Thai preferred way.

Why a handful of foreigners on here cannot accept this and move on is beyond me are they really that ignorant as to how things are done here?

Its not "developing"  into a costa del crime,  it has been that since time immemorial,   THey have just started catching a few crims recently  that's all.  So in reality the opposite is  true

Interpol notices are not issued for criminals inside a country.

Their purpose is to have other member countries locate  fugitives within their own borders and take action on behalf of the requesting state.

Ergo, all Red Notice criminals in Thailand are non-Thais.

The Red Notice is the highest level and effectively serves as an arrest warrant to hold  the crim for extradition.

RED NOTICE _"To seek the location/arrest of a person wanted by a judicial jurisdiction or international tribunal with a view to extradition"

If the Thailand Interpol rep receives a notice about someone  who entered this country as a fugitive he will try to find and arrest that person.

Thanks for all the legal reasons. I have two basic question which is," red bull had , and I mean HAD a red alert for his arrest. Yet after 10 or more years he has not been arrested!

Q1 Is it because his family is very wealthy and corrupt like Thaksin or

Q2 because Thailand RTP and the judicial system is incompetent and corrupt?

Obviously I couldn't know why an active red notice hasn't been actioned. It appears the guy isn't hard to find.

I would think the non action has been spelt out accurately by a poster above.

answer...  nobody cares except a few on here, and although its hard for some members to believe, their opinion really does not count for much, in fact it counts for nothing, in cases such as this , and in general too

You appear to be a quitter. What I am trying to say is simply when the politics and corruption are wrong which has occurred on many many times in previous world events there are those that have the balls to stand up against such corruption. But you, appear to be a person that crawls away so as not to be identified to fight such evil?

Its not my issue, but I respect how those directly involved have resolved this long running saga to suit their own needs.   They have all been paid out or paid off and all are as happy if not happier with this outcome than the traditional western way of sorting things out , many simply do not have the money to wait for justice to run its course. its not about what you or anybody else thinks and nothing to do with quitting

No comment from me in detail as I do not want to waste my time with you. I'll let the members here judge your feedback.

The ones that will whinge have  the same problems understanding how things are done here that you suffer from ,  so forgive me for being not the slightest bit worried about their reactions
