Illegal Sex Toy Bust Renews Calls for Law Reform in Thailand

Featured Replies

There is no specific Thai law against sex toys, only interpretations by successive junta of broader criminal laws designed to 'uphold public morals'.

Peg boys take note: your deviant behaviour is not welcome in Thailand.  Yet gay marriage is A-OK, so be sure you're getting pegged with the real deal as the Thai government does not accept substitutio

Sex toys are extremely dangerous and if the authorities do not jump all over this there's a chance that the moral fabric of society could be torn asunder, and the people could be turned into perverts

Your quote," could be turned into perverts" There has been perverts and maniacs before and after the pyramids were built? So what's your problem?

I guess you've never been exposed to satire before?

The wooden phallus's that can be purchased are legal, but not the synthetic ones?

Because getting wood is a natural thing

Which safety for these toys? Some are using more dangerous things as sextoys. Reform and legalize should be done. Most are used in the bedroom inside

In the OP image the toy shaped like an electronic calculator must be considered potentially dangerous.😋

ME! I’m the only legal "sex toy" - and I’ve over 70 years experience to endorse my standing. C' mon girls (and boys if I’m sufficiently inebriated… 😜) , only the real thing will do, accept no substitutes !

May you live another 70 years. 👏👏👏👏

Thais invent laws as they suit...rembember a few years back that a bar owner was fined for not having a permission for darts....you see dildos/fallus everywhere in money baskets even on a road but that is for good luck or business. In thr bedroom however they are giving health problems an forbidden, by a  probly frustrated old man

Just make them legal.  Otherwise, make all elongate objects which can be inserted into an orifice illegal:  Cucumbers, carrots, drum sticks, egg plants, PVC pipes, papaya, coconuts, flashlights...use your imagination.  All should be labelled at potential sex toys and made illegal.  Or just legalize the the long plastic, vibrating do-dads.

Thailand is still back in the 1950s when these "massager" ads ran.  Yeah, massager, ah huh.  :glare: 🥒🍆

They are everywhere, all over the world, we must keep Thailand safe

Correct. We must maintain the purity and we must maintain the innocence, and Thailand must be protected from this type of perversion at all costs. Whatever it takes!

Protecting the ping pong ball manufacturing industry.

It's ridiculous!  They might as well ban these as well, cause they are being used by housewives, the length and breadth of the country for such an activity.

Reading the title, I thought the bust was illegal, but the first line of the OP made me realise it was the sex toys. Gemini AI explained to me that this misunderstanding is understandable:

Quote

Why the Headline Was Confusing
In the phrase "Illegal Sex Toy Bust":
  • Without a hyphen: "Illegal" can be read as modifying the entire phrase "sex toy bust," making the bust itself sound illegal.
  • With a hyphen: "Illegal sex-toy bust" clearly indicates that the bust was of "illegal sex-toys".

I assume the sex-toy vendor would have to fight the accusation in court to find out if his prosecution was justified to uphold public morals , ie to get a court's definition of public morals. A good lawyer for the defence should have no difficulty lining up a few hundred witnesses to testify that the sight of sex toys does undermine their morals.
