Despite all these rules that harass the commoner as usual, did it have any effect on preventing all the chinese mafia scammers or others ? Their operations seem to carry on. With all the corruption around, any criminal can dodge such rules. It's usually the common person who suffers and usually the foreigners and expats living in Thailand who are honest and decent.

Did you suffer? if not, then why are you complaining?

Doesn't sound like anyone here suffered. Just transitioned to a normal SIM plan, which, in most cases, is better for them.

Yeah after using my DTAC SIM for years I also got this. I went down to the True shop in Lotus South Pattaya to show them my passport and move off a Tourist SIM. But I was told because I have a DTAC number not a True number I need to go to a DTAC shop. What? I thought they were the same company? I can even use the True app to manage my DTAC SIM. I questioned this, but was told, no I am in the wrong shop even though the SMS says go to "any True DTAC shop." I need to go to the DTAC shop at "Central Beach"

So I rang 1678 (number given in the original message). Even pressing "9" I still ended up with Chinese. Using my smattering of Mandarin I asked to be transferred to an English operator. Finally got through to English and gave my passport number and my package was changed from Tourist to Main Package "Call 0.75B/min Net2B/min SMS 2B NNS 5B"
