Why do they feel the need to “hit back” at all? It is a juvenile, face-saving reaction that ultimately causes more loss of face than it prevents. Can anyone seriously imagine UK Border Force or Duba

Experiences inevitably vary, but over the past year there have been very few credible reports of excessive queues at Thai airport immigration. While this was undeniably an issue several years ago, mea

Hitting back is something that juveniles and very small men like Trump do. It's a defensive mechanism and it happens for a reason they are defending bad behavior and poor policy.

There is no doubt that more could be done to improve this situation. I've always wondered why flights are bunched together like that and you just wonder if that's not something that the airport could somehow coordinate with the airlines to avoid a mess like that.

They should also have more lanes dedicated to gold card members, business class travelers, and perhaps they should have a simple scan system for people who have marriage and retirement visas.

He's not - he wrote that he 'can't say he had any problems ever'... (drawing on personal experience not a generalisation).

Whats your experience of recent travel Trans ?? (in the past 12 months) long queues or through quickly?

It seems 'most' people who've responded on the thread have had favourable experiences recently, with a couple of posters encounter unlucky experiences... and an expected minority showing more negative bias than genuine input (some just love to bash).

Forget it, Transam is a full timer on this site, he thinks he knows it all and when he doesn't he makes it up or insults people, he has nothing else to do judging by the very high number of comments he makes, if he was paid £10 for every comment he made he would have made millions by now.😀

I for one have never had a problem with immigration as I stated earlier, it is much faster here that the immigration queues for non-Brit and none-EU visitors at Heathrow.

Even with a British passport it takes longer to get through the Immigration at Heathrow than it does at BKK.

When did you last arrive at Swampy ?

Me, Swampy, none of your business, and are you saying every single day at Swampy is the same............? 😂

Well, you can complain about long waiting times at immigration, but all in all, I have to wait longer for my luggage.

Suppose you get through immigration in five minutes, then there's a good chance you'll have to wait another 45 minutes for your suitcase.

Despite what the Thai Immigration Bureau thinks, my time is not free and a 30 minute wait is 30 minutes too long.

Do you have time to be in Thailand at all?

You did mention you had not had a flight for 6 years - there have been significant improvements in process and timing since then.

Passing through Thai Immigration upon arrival at Suvarnabumi Airport in a reasonable amount of time (<15mins) is no longer the exception - its quite the norm.

Good luck with that... You might be reminded that your permission to enter Thailand is at the discretion of the immigration officers and a privilege, not a right and that screening for undesirables is part of that process....

Tell them they are wasting your valuable time and you might see an interesting response - showtime indeed !!

That said: I agree - 30mins is a long time to stand in a queue - thats why such a wait feels longer.

Realistically, as the many replies indicate - passage through Immigration at Suvarnabhumi is relatively smooth and quick - there really isn't anything to complain about, even if you do think you are more important than Immigration right to processing arrivals.

Well, he didn't mention that he's 'not here'... he just mentioned that his 'time is not free'....

Yes, though that one was an internal flight..........My point was, no one will know what to expect at any airport regarding hold-ups, immigration, bag reclaim, late plane, problem with plane, I think I have had all of those in the past...🤗

The same here - delays, cancelled flights, lost baggage etc.. when things go wrong its a nightmare - fortunately, its a rarity rather than the norm.

But, as this topic specifically deals with Immigration Arrivals at Suvarnabumi airport being slow and the information being countered by many in this forum (including myself) is that slow processing of arrivals by Immigration at Suvarnabumi airport is a thing of the past - Improvements have been notable and delays experienced by the Japanese man complaining on social media (and a couple of others) is now an outlier rather than the norm the delays previously were.

It can now be expected to pass through Immigration and received your baggage in a very reasonable timeframe - this 'impression' (that I have) seems to be backed up by many who have contributed to this thread - with a couple of exceptions who've been unlucky (and a couple of posters who have presented an excessive level of negative bias and probably fail to see anything other than the negative here instead of observational balance).

My 'expectation'... when arriving in Thailand is that I am off the plane an into a car in about 30-40mins.

My 'expectation'... when departing Thailand is that I am through to departures in about 30minutes and quite often I am (but still arrive 2 hours early - just case !!.. and to account for traffic irregularities).

No!

Just totally unnecessary as all you had to do was give a simple explanation to a simple request!

Alright, let's do some Pol Col Spokesman math:

2,000 passengers divided by 30 minutes = 67 passengers per minute

or

1-2 passengers every second!

Pol Col Spokesman, I slightly doubt your statement...

How many desks are there? There's not one IO at one desk processing 1-2 passengers per second. Jeez, it is not difficult.

Nope you are wrong, I am wrong and the rest of the people who have had a positive experience and have stated it on this site are all wrong.

How do I know, Trans-sam has stated we are all wrong and he knows as he had an internal flight six years ago and he had to queue for a bit, that is the law, over and out. 😀

As I said I had no problem when returning from my trip to the UK last year and also when arriving here in 2022, a friend who visits three times a year for the last five years has had no problem but he must also be wrong.

I had three other friends visit last year and they had no prob either, but that does not matter as a Trans-sam ruling has been passed.

"You were lucky too, then.........clap2" , that is saying we are all wrong as our good experience was merely down to luck and not because the system has improved over the last few years.

Says the bloke who has no experience of airports for six years, even then it was only an internal flight with no immigration involved.

I know there are no murders in the Columbia, how do I know, cos I have never been there to see it for myself, that is 100% proof according to your comment. 😁

And I will have a nice day thanks, the same as all the other days.

Right I have had my twopennies worth, time to sign off and do some real 'work'.

Have a nice day as well, it will be full days work for you as usual with your almost unlimited number of comments on this blog. 👍
