I thought you said they increased this year?

An extract statement from CDC. This my last contribution to this subject. Rest you can do your own research.

“This decline suggests more than 81 lives saved every day,” the CDC stated in a press release. On average, 220 US residents still died of overdose each day in 2024.

But when the CDC announced the decline in May of 2025, the downward trend in overdose fatalities had already begun to reverse in seven states, according to the Guardian’s findings.

Getting rid of Maduro -- GOOD. The consequences of doing it the way Trump has -- VERY RISKY. The "wisdom" or lack thereof (bizarre to use the word wisdom relating to Trump) of his decision will not be

Yes, throwing money at opioid overdose reversal medications and emergency services does reduce the number of overdoses that result in death, but it does not reduce the number of people overdosing and or using drugs, if anything, it facilitates it.

Who's reading from a script?

In any event, the number of overdose related deaths seems to be increasing.

I have, but unlike you, I do not rely on a leftist organization like PBS to filter what I read.

In any event, I thought you were complaining that Trump was not addressing the root cause, no? Overdose and addition treatments in no way treat the root causes, they just treat the symptoms.

I think you'll find it was a law enforcement action supported with and by the military.

A law enforcement where people on military bases nowhere near the site of the abduction were killed by American bombs.

Right. So you don't understand about taking out air defence systems. As for the site of Maduro the dictator being extracted back to the US this happened in the largest military base in Caraccas where he was being guarded by Cubans.

The point being that characterizing this as a law enforcement action is absurd.

DEA. DEA is law enforcement. It was as I said a DEA operation supported by the military and I should have also mentioned the CIA.

Total BS!

It was an out and out military operation!

Serving a warrant in a jurisdiction where it has no legal validity is not law enforcement. Unless you mean law of the jungle enforcement. Otherwise, it's just an invisible fig leaf.

Has the ICJ even entered Israel to serve a warrant against Netanyahu? Much less abducted him?

What has that got to do with the allegedly legality of a warrant that has no legal validity in the country in which it was served?

Does an ICJ issued warrant have any legal validity in Israel or the US?

No. What's your point?

Well, to make clear the obvious, in neither case would serving a warrant have, much less making an arrest have any legal validity
