Rental agreement second year

Featured Replies

Hi folks I’m on a yearly rental of this condo and my first year came to an end.

The landlord requested to sign the extension agreement for another year,

I’ve asked the agent if I could get my deposit back if I give a month leave notice and verbally replied yes I can.

But after signing the agreement the manager of agent says that I must stay for another year and stated his employee misunderstood the contract,

I say fuk that ur employee misunderstood but manager won’t budge and says I’ve already signed the contract which is legally binding

I don’t want to stay here and what are my options?

Can I skip the rental payment for a month 15000thb give 30 days or 1 day notice of leave and gtf outter here???

Deposit is 30000thb.

No need to sign for just a rolling month, fair enough landlord wants you to stay longer but if you don't want to leave, give notice and you'll lose the deposit most likely as you are leaving before the 12 month period.

Ideally an agreement should say if you leave before the end date the rent is deemed to be 20k a month etc.

If you withhold rent and take out of deposit, maybe you'll get away with it, maybe not

I read the OP as they've signed a new 1 year lease in which case they need to stay for the year or lose the deposit.

Can't really blame the agent or the landlord if you've signed a new contract.

The extension agreement you read and signed, what does it say ?

Please don't play the victim here....Your situation is 100% your own fault.....Signing a new contract was pretty stupid if you did not want to stay...

Now your ony option is to stay or skip one months rent and then leave without giving notice, and they will keep the deposit....

Agree. The big question for me is why he signed the 1 year extension in the first place if he wanted to leave. Makes no sense at all. And, no, I will not reference his Asean Now moniker.
