That's Trump again. Use of a pejorative label.

It would not surprise me at all to learn you are a narcissist, just like him. Your post count is certainly up there with his.

Three points

You said you were exiting.

I guess not.

Snookums is not a slur.

Whether I'm a narcissist or not is immaterial.

I don't have the nuclear codes.

I'm bumping this in the wake of Trump's outrageously offensive and ignorant comments surrounding Norway, Denmark, Greenland, Davos, Canada, NATO, NATO nation soldiers etc.

Checking if there are any noticeable changes in this regard as personally I feel this has been recently AMPLIFIED.

Today I was in a group of people on an elevator discussing nationalities, and there were Norwegians there. Cringe.

I just wasn't in the mood and projected mild unfriendliness.

So happily I wasn't included.

However, if I had been, I don't know what I would have said.

I don't think I could have just said I'm American and play a dumbo act that I don't know what's going on in the world.

There is zero doubt that Norwegians in Thailand wouldn't know about Trump's bizarre blaming of Norway for him not getting the Nobel Peace Prize and because of that, he doesn't care so much about peace anymore.

That vile damaging person represents all Americans to the world including me!

If you don't say something to Norwegians now you may as well be wearing the fascist red hat, no?

Embarrassed yet?

You're an American in another land? Prepare to talk about the why and how of Trump 2.0 | AP News

What comes after the revelation that someone is American, U.S. citizens overseas say, are awkward questions, pauses and euphemisms — but almost always a reference to America under Trump in 2025.

“Before this year, the typical follow-up would be asking where exactly I’m from and what brought me to France,” said Anthony Mucia, 31, a Nebraska native who lives in Toulouse, France and has been overseas for six years. “Twice now, the first thing someone asked me was, ‘Are you glad to be in France now?’” He also gets looks that he interprets as “a bit of ‘shock’ or ‘uneasiness.’ Almost like it automatically turned into an embarrassing topic.”

What’s bending these interactions, expats say, is Trump’s flurry of orders and statements that have upended 80 years of international order and spooked markets.

As a European living in Asia, who despises Trump from the bottom of his heart, among other things because of his vulgarity, ignorance, misogyny, narcissism, arrogance and because he betrayed true Conservatism, I have to admit that there are aspects (in truth just one) that I appreciate about his presidency.

Since he took office, or more precisely since his inauguration day, the Euro has appreciated against the dollar by almost 14%.

The THB also appreciated against the dollar, as did other currencies. But not as much as the euro and the Swiss franc, and this made my life a little more comfortable.

I also took the opportunity, at the moment of the THB's greatest weakness against the Euro, to invest a modest sum in Thailand, with satisfactory results. And for this I can only thank Mr. Trump.

Therefore, the attitude with which I would welcome an American casually crossing my path here in Bangkok, is a reflection of my mixed feelings about Trump. If on one hand my European brain, heart and gut tell me that Trump positively is a sc*mb*g, my European wallet tells me the exact opposite.

I have similar feelings. The attitude with which I would welcome a European casually crossing my path anywhere is a reflection of my mixed feelings about Europe. One one hand , my American brain, heart and gut tell me that my tax dollars pay for their countries defense and social safety net, but my American courtesy and friendliness override the desire to tell them to thank me they arent speaking German or Russian.

Not many on here know you served in WW2. Thank you for your service sir!

Your welcome. Europeans were more grateful back then, but hey, they were patting our back with one hand, and picking our pocket with the other, with apologies to Reed Hadley.

When Bush Jr. was in office I used to tell people that I'm Canadian, and I came out of Regina. Ha!

I'm considering doing the same thing again because not only am I not proud of being American at this point in time, but it gets a little tiring answering all the questions, as the vast majority of people I meet not only cannot believe we elected him twice, but they cannot believe his toxic, madman, arrogant, ignorant, nasty, ridiculous, and petty behavior since being reelected.

Trump is the laughing stock of planet Earth and he's an absolutely huuuuuge joke. Unfortunately the joke is on America, and the world at this point in time.

You act like you are never wrong which narcs do. You would be at least 75% narc.

I personally do not judge the american people at all for what this scumbag dog has done to their country and trying to do to the rest of the world. He is trying to run the country same as he ran his so called bussinesses. Into the ground. Has to be the worst president ever in the history of America,no class,no scuples, nothing but a loser scumbag.

Spot on........clap2

Best approach is to learn a little about where you are and be able to hold a conversation about what you see. No one appreciates anyone who doesn't know something about where they are.

Don't expect any gratitude. It is evident that the more Trump cuts the budget used to pay for the European "defense and safety net", the more the Euro skyrockets, the more the Europeans are better off, and the more the dollar sinks.

This says a lot about who had the most to gain from American charity in "favor" of the European continent, albeit I doubt your "American brain" grasps it...

I doubt your European brain understands that you guys cant afford to defend yourselves, and even if you could you would be defenseless.

If we withdraw, the EU is done because a few countries are smart and will cut their own deals.

Its mass hysteria, must be. One of the drawbacks of a universal vote I suppose.

I hear you.

Feelings about political matters can be complex.

However, you made my point.

For better or worse, you see a random American and the first thing that comes to your mind is Trump.

But of course the majority of Americans do NOT support Trump.

So do you welcome Americans who do not support Trump to give you that information or not? Even with a subtle coded comment.

I think it's fair for non-Americans to ASSUME that most any random American is either pro Trump or MIGHT likely be pro Trump unless there is something about them that cancels that. Such as being black for example.

My self as an older "gentleman" who is older, has white skin, and presents cisgender, I have come to the conclusion that superficially I am (fairly) assumed to likely be pro Trump. Which is an assumption that is quite nauseating.

Americans are not the only nationality dealing with these kinds of issues. Russians abroad come to mind. I think it's fair to assume most any random Russian is either pro Z Putin fascist or not opposing him or his genocidal war UNLESS they tell me differently or present some kind of code which cancels that assumption. For example younger Russian men presenting in some kind of non-conformist way.
