To me, fairly fresh from Europe, "unlimited" means unlimited data.

Depends where you live and which network has the best signal. I prefer AIS, have 10mbps unlimited 150 baht a month. you could get a cheap 50 baht sim and test it, starting with AIS

It's a deal I've had for years, if you can find a good deal on lazada or shopee go with that

Ais is best for data, but all offers data limited (usually 30gb/month) now, and they've removed the free phone calls.

The SIM you linked appears to be a new offer, well worth it ........l if it's legit.

What's this "XQ-VPN" app?

They make it sound as if this is needed for use.

XQ-VPN app ..... watch ads to get usage time ....... not suitable for mobile banking use.

So no connection without using the app that blocks mobile banking.

"Not compatible with CCTV cameras, printers, smart TVs, and IoT devices.

To use some banking apps, you need to disconnect the internet connection in the app before opening the banking app itself."

Doesn't sound all that useful!

"It actually works, they weren't scamming me, but it's a bit difficult and confusing to use. The signal isn't great right now because we live near a mountain; I'll try it in the city later. The internet comes from an app, not directly from AIS. In conclusion, it's not good because the signal drops frequently; it disconnects even when the screen is off. I have to reconnect through the app often. Consider this before buying."

AIS is best for us, but at the shop today, that was not an option for us. Do you have the name of the program?

Don't be silly now. 😊 Though you are welcome to test it and let us know how it goes. I like how they are selling normal SIM at four times the face value, in order to give their page the legitimacy of selling normal products.

The TRUE THOR SIM is the only 12 month Unlimited data SIM and it's 4k for up to 15Mbps. 3.3k for 6Mbps.

https://www.alottechs.com/product/select-sim-thor

AIS direct will cost you 481.50 per month. You obviously don't like that, since you've done that before, so know about it.

In Korat they had the normal plan I used to have, AIS 580,- unlimited 10mbs, so that's the plan I stick to for now. Works fine home streaming tv and movies on Tablet and TV.

580 baht? They are cheating you or you have your figures wrong. It's 481.50.

Maybe it was 480, and 50 for the SIM card?

Wife paid so you might be right

Should be 50 baht for the card from a service centre. If you went into a Telewiz or some such, they might add a bit more to the price of the SIM, so then it would be 481.50 plus whatever they charged for the SIM, for the first month and then 481.50 thereafter.

TRUE has 20 Mbps for 475 baht, but if AIS works for you, probably best to stick with them. GoMo no longer sells Unlimited to new customers.

Finn Mobile(TRUE) has unlimited 20Mbps from 259 baht, but coverage may be limited to certain wavebands.

A few years ago I bought DTac for 1200 a year, and it worked perfect. Bought on Lazada, and someone here did recommend it. Might had been @scubascuba3 do you remember?

Wife showed me the bill, 467,5,- bath pluss tax and 50 for the SIM, total 550,-

Those years of cheap deals are gone 😊 Now there are just two main players. Only people that held on to their cheap and unlimited deals still have them.

Scuba has similar AIS deals, but without the calls components. I recently let my Unlimited 20Mbps AIS package expire, since I wasn't using it and didn't need to spend 300 baht a month on it.

Have AIS 5G top speed 30GB .

Not the cheapest at I think around 699 baht a month.

But have mostly found the staff in AIS quite decent. Top marks for the ones in ICONSIAM.

30GB? That's nothing...

Certainly top marks for selling you a package you might have gotten at half the price.

For several years in a row I'm using following SIM for 4000 Baht/year.

Truly unlimited internet and even some free calls / SMS. (I don't know limits, but it was always enough and I never run out)

If it's 'limited' to 10mbps then it's not truly 'unlimited'. Regardless of the word salad the marketecture uses. Truly unlimited means no speed cap and no data cap. The one I usually get, which is truly unlimited, is not advertised. You can only get it by going into an AIS owned store with your passport. Most of the stores in the malls are not AIS owned even though they may appear to be with the signage. They are partner stores. The plan costs 1200b a month. I was averaging around 20-40GB a day streaming IPTV and all sorts of other stuff, so it was worth it to me.

It's unlimited data, never had a restriction in 10 years. The 10mbps speed is more than adequate for my downloads and streaming live sporting events, I don't notice any difference with my 3BB 250mbps fiber

What about True Net Marathon

Unlimited data,365 days , 6 Mbps for 2.5k + vat

Lesson learned, In Chaiyaphum, they only wanted to sell me the big unlimited packages 1100,- baht or more pr month, and told me the 10mb unlimited 480,- I used to have was not available or ended. My previous could not be restarted because I had been abroad and did not top up every month I had been gone.

In Korat first try, so knowing what you need and want us essential when buying a new sim.

Perhaps nothing to do with the location. Their Unlimited 10Mbps package is for new SIM only. So once it expired, the only way to get it again was to obtain another SIM.

What is your question? If the add-on suits your purpose. AIS offer a similar package, though at 3500 baht.

If it's limited speed then you can only use so much data in a day/week/month. So nothing about it is unlimited.

If you do the simple math how much data you can theoretically use at the speed limit for 24/7, you will find that it's usually priced the same as an unlimited speed plan with data cap for the same amount of time.

It's just two different ways to bill you for essentially the same amount of service usage. They slap on the word 'unlimited' because it makes it sound better than it actually is.

I have had the same number DTAC SIM for the past 13 years. I don't want the hassle of changing numbers and all it entails. For the past eight years, I've had a prepaid, renewable 12-month plan with unlimited data and 10 Mbps. Cost: 3500 baht p.a. + VAT. for the past 4 years, unchanged.

I can honestly say that I've never had a problem with this package.
