Yeah, That increase taking .0035 of his million must have really hurt.

  • Barack Obama deported over 3 million. Joe Biden deported ~700,000 (2024). Donald Trump deported ~600,000 (2025). Yet only under Trump does chaos hit construction and ripple through the rest of the U.

You expect a certain ROI, with every USD spent. When part of your overhead increases 100%, you sort of lose the desire to hold on to.

They're Section 8 rentals, and profit is minimal anyway, and long term, it adds up. But when your RE Tax increases from $292 to $584 a month. Along with mortgage, and what you invested to rehab, not counting your time, then that $1500 you might get for monthly rent, starts to not be worth the bother.

Especially when you don't need the money to begin with, but just like tinkering, and spending time with you 95 yr old father, before he moves to the next dimension.

Pop back in when you have a clue about RE investing in the USA, and prioritizing your quality time.

I spent the last 20 years of my life running a construction company, and my best friend in the States owns several apartment buildings and single-family rentals. So "yes," I do have a clue!

I guess you didn't read or understand, or realize, your link agrees & verifies, exactly what I stated. The number is from surveys. So basically BS.

What the lefties miss is that people responding to those surveys weren't worried about saying "I'm not even looking" in the past. They were still going to get their free benefits. That way, they weren't considered unemployed. They weren't counted in the labor pool.

Under Trump2, they're afraid to claim that they aren't even looking, because of work requirements to get benefits.

Bottom line is that there are over 2 million more jobs for native borns since the Biden autopen left office. But even more people are claiming that they're looking for a job. Whether that's because they have confidence because they no longer have to compete with cheap illegal labor, or whether they're afraid of losing their benefits if they don't even bother looking for work, that's a good thing.

Unless you're a "free stuff for everybody" lefty.

Lots of unsubstantiated allegations and at this point what can safely be called a lie by you about there being 2 million more jobs held by native born Americans since it's been pointed out to you over and over again that it's just a statistical artefact.

That's being rather selective, isn't it? That comes from the same BLS survey that says the unemployment rate is up. You don't get to pick and choose which data you believe and which you ignore as a "statistical artefact". Who do you think you are, CNN or MSNOW?

Why would I care about unemployment numbers in the USA. Besides not living there the past 25 years, I never had a problem finding a job, and that was also during Carter, (see below), probably the worst economic time, with highest unemployment numbers, I so they say. And yet, I was steadily employed with numerous jobs those 4 year. You want to work, you look for work, you find work, as simple as that.

I simply stated, the numbers are BS and pulled from surveys. Which you still apparently don't know.

So what's wrong with the two surveys' methodologies, according to you?

What this actually demonstrates is that you don't have a clue about statistics. Apparently you have some kind of mental allergy to the word "survey".

Well, doesn't his excessive use of the cheesy emoji give him any credibility?

I have explained to him many times already, that the use is just showing what a fool he actually is.

... "There are about 60,000 eligible households in the sample for this survey. This translates into approximately 110,000 individuals each month, a large sample compared to public opinion surveys, which usually cover fewer than 2,000 people. The CPS sample is selected so as to be representative of the entire population of the United States." ... cheesy

To put that in perspective ...

... "0.0314% of 350,000,000 is 110,000" ... cheesy

And how many in those households, are below or beyond working age, or not even looking for work ?

... "The CPS sample is selected so as to be representative of the entire population of the United States." ... cheesy

Ooops! I see you already replied. As already mentioned by Alan Zweibel, you have absolutely no understanding of basic statistics! 😅

The labour force participation rate did not change much in 2025. From 62.5% to 62.4%

Native born unemployment increased under Trump!

True. The illegals pick your fruit, build your houses, wash your cars, mow your lawns, bus your tables... all the menial but essential stuff.

What's Trump's solution to the root cause of this problem?

Trump, and Miller are racists, and hate people of color. I don't see them going after any illegal Germans, Swedes, or white South Africans.

Though the exceedingly dumb South Korean factory raid may be an exception of that application of racist immigration policy.

At least he or she will have a job, with better pay to support him/her and theirs.

Y'all just don't get it, do. Illegal aliens lower the wage base, use municipal service, that usually don't pay taxes for, or their fare share. Raised the overall cost of those that do pay taxes, with now opportunities & less income, for US citizens.

So do you like the illegal aliens in your home country ? Don't bother, I know the answer.

Agree. And not to mention the illegals being used in construction may work quickly but they don't produce quality. A friend of mine in Carrollton, just outside Dallas, had repairs made to cabinets, walls, and outside deck. The crews were all likely illegal, because none of them could speak English. They left gaps, misaligned corners, unlevel cabinet tops, open covers on electrical outlets. Fortunately, my friend could see all the lousy work. It took four or five tries but he eventually got someone in to sort of fix things. God help the person buying new houses where you can't see builders' work on the frame, roof, etc. Oh, and what do you get with a new property evaluation? Your once 500K house is now worth a million, so you pay higher property tax and homeowners insurance. The house is the same. You live there. Whatever increase in value doesn't help you, because you would need to pay similarly for a new place.

First off, they still have shops at our schools. I gave my old truck to the school. They rebuilt it and sold it. The other thing is as a kid in the early 60s, I had to work the fields to pick strawberries, green beans, and dig tulip bulbs. In the fields next to us were the Mexican families (wetbacks as they were called back then). They were the better workers as we were kids after all, and prone to strawberry fights. There were never adult white people, even back then, who wanted to do that kind of work. Have you ever had calluses on your hands?

Illegals are responsible for contributing over $80 BILLION USD/year in taxes and SSA that they will never receive.

That's how it used to be in the USA, until the millions of illegal flooded the sanctuary states, and now get welfare.

Use to be if you 'can't' work, then no prob, assistance is available for you. Able body folks ... get a job, or you're homeless & hungry.

Since they can't have a Soc Sec card, I don't think there's any way to verify that tidbit of info. Reads like leftie BS to me.

Texas has between 1.7 and 2.1 million unauthorized immigrants in the work force, second to only California.

Texas isn't a sanctuary state.

Again, no way to verify those numbers, as just a guess, and a wide hi / lo of 400k.

That apparently is a guess of the population of, maybe, but not in the workforce, or so AI speculates and far from 2M, according to last statement, and still a guess. Nobody really knows how many ...

Also a lot of jobs, lost to illegal aliens, in just the construction sector ...

Back then the Mexican didn't bring wife and kids too much, the men traveled with the crops to be picked and sent money home. They didn't just move here.

I've found it's best not to share too much info with strangers. Might want to think about that.

Google AI

Undocumented immigrants (sometimes referred to as "illegal" in common parlance) paid an estimated

$26.2 billion into the Social Security Trust Fund in 2023 and $25.7 billion in 2022. These workers are generally ineligible to collect the benefits they pay into.

Key Details

  • Contribution Amounts: In 2022, undocumented immigrants paid nearly $26 billion in Social Security taxes and $6.4 billion in Medicare taxes. The estimated amount for 2023 was $26.2 billion into Social Security.

  • Mechanism of Payment: Undocumented immigrants pay these taxes through payroll deductions, often using a borrowed or fraudulent Social Security number, or by using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to file tax returns.

  • Ineligibility for Benefits: The vast majority of undocumented immigrants are barred from receiving Social Security benefits or other federal public assistance programs because of their immigration status.

  • Positive Fiscal Effect: The Social Security Administration's actuaries have consistently found that the contributions from unauthorized workers have a net positive effect on the financial status and solvency of the Social Security program, as more money is paid in than claimed in benefits.

  • Overall Tax Contributions: In total, undocumented immigrants paid an estimated $96.7 billion in federal, state, and local taxes in 2022.
