US Suspends Immigrant Visa Processing for Thailand

But if usa would allow Thai gals to open happy ending massages all over america where for $40 or so all the super horny males could get some relief rather than getting into fights over girls the crime rate for violent assaults would likely plummet saving billions. Plus there would be lot more guys walking around with smiles on their faces rather than being pissed off all the time looking to blame someone for their miserable lives.

is there a national shortage of prostitutes and horny "up for it" desperate single women in the states ? Difficult to believe considering the number of illegals they are plagued with at present

The way things are going under the conmans rule, no one wants to go to the USA anyway. No real loss to anyone until the govt changes.

  • They're taking a timeout to evaluate why so many approved visa candidates end up on the dole when they come to the USA. Sounds reasonable to me. Sounds like the vetting process hasn't been working v

  • How many Americans are going on the dole in Thailand? Here's the key, from the OP: aiming to prevent the entry of individuals deemed likely to become a public charge.

FACTS: The pause takes effect starting Jan. 21, and will halt visa issuance to people looking to permanently immigrate, typically through marriage, family ties or work sponsorship. It doesn’t block people from obtaining tourist or temporary work visas.

Aw don't spoil it for the trump haters

Have you seen or read about the type gals that are generally prostitutes in usa? Street walkers or online gals working from mobile homes who want way more than $40 for way less services. Meth heads or 250 lbs or upscale Vegas hookers who want thousands of dollars. Top it off by knowing that cops often arrest the hookers and sometimes the johns. Thai gals running hand and/or oral relief stations are cut from a different cloth.

Believe it or not most of the "illegals" generally work in restaurants, chicken farms, agriculture and "real jobs" that other us citizens don't want and won't do.

Looks like you need to prove financial stability and good health in order to get a Visa.

Sounds reasonable. However, there are plenty of other countries to travel to .

Once the current Administration is Gone - Common sense will once again prevail.

Nonsense! There are hordes of people at American Embassies and consular offices trying to get visas to visit the USA. That being said, I personally would not want to go to the United Kingdom right now because I might be arrested at the airport there for criticizing its government on social media.

Thailand should immediately revoke visa exempt travel for US passports.

Go ahead. Americans will just go elsewhere on our holidays and spend our sweaty tourist money in other countries.

Here's what you don't get. Thailand depends on foreign tourism for a huge chunk of its GDP. The foreign tourism contribution to US GDP is a fraction of 1%. Thailand would be cutting off their nose to spite their face. And they aren't dumb.

Doesn't matter, a lot of people cancelled going to the USA in the next 3 years.

Probably saving American taxpayers $Trillions in welfare expenses, including $ tens of billions in outright fraud.

Oh, wait. Are you claiming that's a bad thing?

I wish we would do the same in the Uk for the replacement spongers being taxied in across the English Channel!

No chance under the current Socialist tyrant effing up the country!

This is true, but I think we can anticipate greater than before scrutiny of tourist visa applications, especially by people with family in the US, due to suspicion that they may actually be looking to immigrate and applying as tourist instead now that immigration channel is suspended.

I have a very close friend interviewing on the 21st for tourist visa to visit her son and grandchildren in the US. Genuine, not looking to immigrate, but I fear her chances have just taken a nosedive. ☹️

Hopefully your friend is well established here in Thailand. If so, it wouldn't hurt for your friend to bring bank books, land/house/car titles, etc. Also, if she has previously visited the US, then I wouldn't think there would be any issue. Best of luck for your friend❤️

So you can't get a marriage visa/extension if you wanted one.

Not unless I registered the marriage which is a hassle but someday we will do it. Have a retirement visa so not a concern.

If she's contemplating getting a B1/B2 tourist/business visa, the ban does not affect her and your financials shouldn't come into play.

If you are looking to get a K-1 (fiancee) visa for her, the ban may very well apply even though technically the K-1 isn't an immigrant visa. But as her sponsor, your financial status would come under review.

She will be applying for a tourist visa. Thanks for the info.

I have been demanding that Thailand give me free housing, free health care, and free money every month, as all the immigrant freeloaders get in the USA, the EU, and the UK.....

So far I have not got a single baht out of the Thai government....

Expats in Thailand in Thailand need to unite and demand they give us free stuff.......lol

Immigrants get the free health care, free housing, free money in the US? I think not!

Where are you getting your information? From redneck MAGAS?

Shouldn't Thailand retaliate, by giving only 30 days visas to US passports?

Hopefully Thailand reciprocates.

When are all the Eurotrash going to stop committing crimes in Thailand?

Always been my view, just reciprocate. How ever many people became citizens of Thailand, let that many Thai's get visa's.. Easy peasy.

The bloated conman in chief and his xenophobic cult followers have effectively destroyed a great country. What shame.

I would posit, it was never such a great country to begin with; now, just the mask has fully fallen off, so everbody can see.

To recap, the USA was built on genocide and stealing land, only one bunch of the thieves thought they are better than anybody else and since that date can tell everybody else how to behave "free". Maybe the reason they also have the biggest weapons cache of the planet, so they are "believed".

The ban does not apply to tourist or business visas, only to visas used to immigrate to the US.

... yet.

There, fixed it for you.

Just means a visit to your embassy together, and then get the paperwork translated, that's it go to your local amphur with witnesses, job done, and it's free, then you can get a yellow house book and a pink card. Also only 400,000b in a Thai bank for 3 months, then you can spend it.

You may well be right.

Trump and his MAGA minions hate immigrants.

Well, maybe not all immigrants.

They may make an exception for immigrant escorts that they end up marrying.

Money probably went to private contractors and ICE milking is taxpayers and making farmers go bankrupt without workers. It is what it is.

I wonder how many will think that the suspension/ban applies to tourist visas, as opposed to those seeking to emigrate to the US. Many might see 'USA suspends visa processing for Thailand' and think everyone is banned. That's how a Thai family member here read it at first.

While run by Trump or his cronies I wouldn’t go there on a free luxury holiday, and I think I’m one of millions.

I hope most Americans are saddened, but the damage is done. I'm an American, with Thai wife, living in USA. Everyday life feels normal until you read the news.

Insanity rules. That's all you can say.

The USA is fine if you are traveling, but I do see your point. I guess I would avoid for now. I'm in USA with Thai wife with citizenship for now!

As you replied to my post with a blank post of your own, I can only assume you are at a loss for words. So I'll answer for you. Thailand, in fact, does not even have an immigrant visa. What Thailand does is allocate each nation a number of applications (usually around 100 or so) for Permanent Residency. Of that number, those acquiring permanent residency are usually in the single digits after failure to meet qualifications. So that is what you have here. Americans in the single digits have likely applied for PR. Meanwhile, Thais who have successfully received US immigrant visas in recent years number between 6,000 and 10,000 per year.

I agree, but this may be conflating the issue, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Buddy! You suck at reading maps. The USA has a higher income than the majority of Europe. You can’t handle the fact that the USA is richer than Europe.
