How Many Days Won On AN?

I didn't have a clue what "winning on AN" meant until I started reading some of the replies.

It means that if one’s life revolves around winning on an internet discussion board that’s predominantly antisocial, then they’ve already lost. Perhaps some sort of intervention or a rehabilitation program to get them back on track of having a normal social life.

Sadly this site has nasty people on it with no substance.

  • Exactly the same for myself. On occasion I will take a peek at one of his posts just to confirm he is still a complete knob. He never disappoints.

  • Looking at the leaderboard is a good indication of just how lefty the forum has become. The syndrome usually runs pretty deep each day.

Mummy wouldn't let it fly the nest that far!

What happened to that loser who is the only one on the site obsessed with talking about his days won? Did he get banned again for the 100th plus time? Oh, the irony. In reality, nobody wants him or his nastiness and trolling around anyway.

Many sites I have seen have a three strike policy. Meaning you get sanctioned three times and after that you are out for good. Not a bad policy at all, me thinks.

Unlikely given the clickbait's it gets for it's rubbish!!

I’m not all that familiar with how the user statistics work on this site. There’s been talk here of leaderboards, reputation counts, and so on, but I’ve been wondering if there’s a way to track something more revealing, like how many thumbs down a member has received over the life of their account, compared to their total number of posts. From what I’ve observed, some users seem to consistently get a handful of thumbs down on nearly every post. To me, that seems pretty relevant in defining their nature as a site user.

Personally, I don’t find the "days won" stat very useful. It seems a bit conflicted. But I do think it would be interesting to know the ratio of a user’s post count to their total number of dislikes. This could provide much more valuable insight into the behavior of someone who consistently leaves negative comments. For example, if a user is negatively dominating and souring a topic, and has three times as many dislikes as posts, it should loudly signal they’re a serial troll, and you could simply choose to ignore them.

In fact, I think this could be a far more meaningful metric to display publicly than some of the current, more confusing stats. If such information exists, it could encourage people to think twice about their behavior, knowing that their negative feedback is visible to everyone. It might even help reduce trolling and flaming if users realize that their actions have real visible consequences and that their negative behavior is being tracked in a more tangible way.

Right now, it feels like people can act badly while still hiding behind vague stats like "days won," something that doesn’t really mean much and doesn’t reflect their actual behavior. A post-to-dislike ratio would definitely fix that and make the system feel far more transparent.

I went to Amsterdam at least 20 times for African music and Reggae, 2000-2009.

Def give a shout if you pass thru BKK. I def know some good weed people (I am currently abstinent). Love your hookers in Cambodia stuff.

Oh yeah, I got plugs all over Bangkok and Cambodia. Weed is actually cheaper in Cambodia. Thanks for the offer

Nothing beats some of the exotics in the Dispensaries in LA and NYC. Although I must say that Green House on Sukhumvit near Margarita Storm always has some brain bangers.

The worst thing about going weedless in the pain. I stink like balm and am almost out of the Red Stuff I get at Wat Pho

Threadjack: Do you also post on other boards?

I do a cross spectrum Political and Culture one, I'm on Reddit Bangkok a lot. And a meditation group chat.

Blocking You Know Who really makes the board more fluid and readable.

I was always anti-block, but he convinced me.

I post on many facebook groups, now have an anonymous option. Plus have a look at another Pattaya forum

At least we now know where your posts derive from, brain bangers.

To be honest, I thought there must be something unnatural going on between your ears..........😒

Most farangs in Thailand were lost when they landed. Thats why they live in Isaan and are bored or Pattaya amongst hookers. Only Khunla on here is well travelled. He gets Thailand. Most don't have a clue.

Well, that blows a royal bag of dicks. The site's biggest muppet is already back posting more of his/her/its usual garbage that nobody wants. At least the 48 hours of silence was bliss.

I won 25 days champ. Obviously more than you lol

A quick look shows that most site members accumulate a reputation score over time that is typically at least 2-3 times more than their total number of site posts. You however have managed to achieve the exact opposite. With a reputation score that does not even reach one quarter of your total post count, your reception on this site is already unmistakable. No further commentary about your level of popularity is necessary.

You should seriously consider writing a Thailand guidebook or starting a YouTube channel. Your unique experiences could provide invaluable insights, and I believe they would resonate deeply with the expatriate community. Sharing your adventures and knowledge could inspire many others and help them navigate their own journeys in Thailand.

So what does it all mean?

Win the day: Most posts in 24 hours?

The number beside your posts count with the heart emoji? Number of posts with positive (not thumbs down(or broken heart?)) likes?

As with everything, it should be quality, not quantity that is sought.

Interesting.

What is the hierarchy of emojis AN? I have no idea.

Which emoji shows a member's most agreement, happiness, etc with a post, and which emoji shows the opposite? Eg. "agree" v "thumbs up"

When your goal is to spread misinformation and propaganda you are definitely not a winner.
