Have a question. I am scheduled for renewing my 5 year license on Jan. 28th. The issue is I am currently "under consideration" for my marriage extension with a check-in date of Feb. 13th at immigration. They (DLT - Udon Thani) require a valid visa extension for drivers license renewal. Anyone know if this would be a problem with the DLT?

You have a year to renew after expiration, so would suggest just wait until after your extension is approved in Feb.

That depends on the traffic office, but things are getting a little more difficult these days. I was (unintentionally) on overstay when I got my first license, the DLT noticed but got me a license anyway. I doubt that you can do stuff like that these days. Why not ask the DLT?

That's what I told my wife. She said she couldn't contact them.... "number not work". TIT. I'll wait until my extension is validated.

I solved the problem. Only use Bolt or Grab or use a bus for longer journeys. None of the absurd bureaucratic hassles in renewing the licence with some rude person behind the counter.

We gave up doing stuff like that long ago. Just physically go there, same as we sometimes do when Immigration has changed rules.
