Records undercut ICE claims that MN jails, prisons release 'worst of the worst'

MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Trump Administration has repeatedly blamed county and state officials in Minnesota for releasing violent criminals from jail or prison instead of handing them over to ICE for deportation.

But many of the detainees highlighted by ICE haven’t been behind bars in Minnesota for several years or haven’t served any time at all in the state, according to court records reviewed by the FOX 9 Investigators.

The records undercut DHS claims that ICE agents are having to pick up people recently cut loose by county jails.

Was this guy a member of IceWatch? Did he actively infringe on an ICE operation? Did he ignore lawful commands? Did he resist? Did he comply and not fight back? Did he declare he was an armed concealed carrier? Did he bring a firearm to a protest where his objective was to impede law enforcement? Did he have two high capacity extra clips on him and why? Is he a martyr or simply another pawn in a much bigger game of highly organized and funded destabilization?

Regulations pertaining to having a CCW permit in Minnesota

The permit holder must have the permit card and a valid driver’s license, state identification card, or other government-issued photo identification in immediate possession at all times when carrying a pistol and must display the permit card and identification document when requested by a peace officer.

Upon request of a peace officer, a permit holder must disclose to the officer whether or not the permit holder is currently carrying a firearm.

And this destabilization is being caused by the state and local Minnesota governments . At the top of this is governer Walz who btw is being accused of being involved in billions dollar scam. So this is the forest through the trees . IMG_20260127_064753.jpgIMG_20260127_065431.jpgIMG_20260127_065346.jpg

Trump, who has no integrity, nor a moral barometer, simply watches the polling and then decides what to do. As he can clearly see, a vast majority of Americans are appalled over the behavior of ICE. So, looks like TACO may back down. More egg on the goombah's face.

Over the past 24 hours, the president has shifted his messaging, as he tries to come to grips with a public mood that is rapidly souring on his immigration policies, writes our North America correspondent Anthony Zurcher.

Chris Madel has withdrawn his bid to be the Republican candidate in Minnesota's gubernatorial election later this year.

Madel says he's bringing his campaign to a halt as he cannot support national Republicans' approach of "state retribution on the citizens of our state," adding that he could not "count myself as a member of a party that would do so".

In a 10-minute video shared on social media today, Madel says that although he agrees with some of the deportations carried out by ICE agents, the operation has "expanded far beyond its stated focus on true public safety threats".

"United States citizens, particularly those of colour, live in fear. United States citizens are carrying papers to prove their citizenship. That's wrong," Madel says, adding: "Weaponising criminal investigations against political opponents is unconstitutional regardless of who is in power."

Madel's withdrawal will come as a shock to many.

Republicans in Washington DC and elsewhere have expressed growing unease with how the administration was handling the situation. Vermont Governor Phil Scott called the federal efforts in Minnesota "a complete failure of coordination of acceptable public safety and law enforcement practices, training and leadership" – at best.

At worst, he said, it was "deliberate federal intimidation and incitement of American citizens".

Utah Senator John Curtis criticised Noem's "premature" response to the shooting, which he said "came before all the facts were known and weakened confidence" in the law enforcement mission.

On Monday morning, Trump posted that he was dispatching "border czar" Tom Homan to Minnesota to direct law-enforcement efforts there. Homan, who handled deportations during Democrat Barack Obama's administration, is considered a more measured, politically attuned operator less prone to the kind of bombastic declarations recently made by Noem and Bovino.

It worked then because local authorities cooperated and the MSM was onboard. Now it's not working in the blue states and cities that refuse to cooperate with federal authorities, MSM is 100% biased against Trump and Waltz and Frey are inciting active resistance.

You need to ask yourself why 'local authorities are not cooperating'. Likely because their localities have needlessly and deliberately been turned into war zones by Trump and ICE, with its combat-attired and heavily armed agents.

ICE is breaking the law in their localities, and murdering their local citizens. ICE is bypassing the local authorities, including local law enforcement. When ICE murders someone, local and state authorities are shut out. Instead of the FBI investigating the murder, ICE is investigating itself. We didn't have any of this with Obama. We didn't have any of this with first-term Trump, either. Ask yourself what has changed and it's easy to see it's ICE.

Indeed. Not only did he not have ID but he had two extra high capacity magazines and took it to a protest Ok I guess it could be said the ID thing was an "oversight" and he forgot to take them and that he was licensed to carry concealed but I wonder how many licensed to carry concealed people would take their weapon + two full high capacity magazines to a dentist appointment for example.

My eyes show me he was interfering and resisting rather than complying. My ears tell me there were shouts of "gun". My eyes tell me he was removed from the road but went back on the road to "direct" traffic. My eyes tell me he didn't put his hands up and declare he was an armed concealed carrier.

More US adults carrying loaded handguns daily, study finds

Data come from the 2019 National Firearms Survey (NFS), an online survey of U.S. adults living in households with firearms, including nearly 2,400 handgun owners. Compared to estimates from prior UW-led research, the new study suggests that in 2019 approximately 16 million adult handgun owners had carried a loaded handgun on their person in the past month (up from 9 million in 2015) and 6 million carried every day (twice as many as carried daily in 2015).

Ridiculous comment. Armed Homeland Security to protect ICE agents doing their job are not needed in jurisdictions that cooperate in the removal of illegal aliens. Armed agents are in MN because Waltz and Frey are encouraging dissent and anarchy and not cooperating with federal authorities. Hand over known illegals, have police assist ICE, start arresting rather than encouraging agitators and there would be no need for Homeland Security to be in MN to protect ICE agents.

DHS investigating whether Alex Pretti’s gun accidentally fired — and sparked deadly Minneapolis shooting: sources

NY Post Updated Jan. 26, 2026, 5:53 p.m. ET

MINNEAPOLIS — The Department of Homeland Security is investigating whether an errant shot from Alex Pretti’s handgun — after it was taken off of him — caused Border Patrol agents to think they were being fired on, The Post has learned.

As a result of the accidental discharge, which happened while the gun was in a Border agent’s hand, other officers may have believed their lives were in danger — resulting in the split-second decision to open fire on Pretti, killing him, multiple sources familiar with the investigation said.

The explanation is a shift from initial claims by DHS officials, who at first said Pretti was brandishing the Sig Sauer P320 pistol, which he was legally allowed to carry.

Nah, the protesters are crazy and breaking the law and engaging in anarchy. By the way, why was one of the protesters wearing a Somali flag?

This guy is "Press" -- unarmed -- and he was being attacked by protesters and they threatened to kill him.

Lock up the protesters so ICE can do its job.

I've already given you my theory.

ICE agents are not robots and their jobs are extremely stressful.

They've been harassed for months on end and they are snapping under pressure.

And maybe not just stress. Maybe they are developing animosity towards these protesters. But again, they're not robots.

AND / OR maybe some of them lack adequate police training?

But I don't think it's the "nazi narrative" that you guys are pushing.

What I and some others are 'pushing' is that the 'nazi narrative' is contributing, along with a number of other things, including the combat uniforms, the masks, the heavy armament, the brutal tactics, the breaking of the law, the murders, etc., to the 'stress' in the local communities. ICE and local citizens are both stressed, with unrest, anger, protests, and murders being the result.

As I said in an earlier post, ICE needs to retreat and completely overhaul how it operates, including a complete change in uniforms. They need to return to what worked in the past, including Trump's first term.

It should be noted that Trump and Kristi are telling lies (surprise!) when they say that most of those being arrested are hardened criminals. Not true. They are arresting more, but with this result:

"But those same figures do not show a comparable increase in the number of people with a criminal history getting picked up by ICE. Roughly half of the 61,000 people currently held in immigration detention in the U.S. have neither a criminal record nor face a criminal charge, according to the data.

The evidence belies the Trump administration's claim that its immigration crackdown is targeting "the worst of the worst," said Kathleen Bush-Joseph, policy analyst and attorney at the Migration Policy Institute in Washington, D.C."

So, the bad element now being arrested has not increased as a percentage in the arrested, despite the lies being told. One positive, the Nazi wannabe ICE commander Bovino has been reassigned. But, it's going to take a lot more than that.

A real vet would probably not face a mob of American citizens unless they are a national guard vet or police vet. I spent very little time as a vet in the US, most in VN. In VN I never faced any mobs of citizens. If you had been in VN you would realize that too.

Trump may be exaggerating. Most may not be hardcore criminals, but just being illegal is considered a crime now.

Both are potentially lethal when encountered unexpectedly!

There may be a multi-billion dollar scam going on.

And these people may be getting paid a lot to protect the scam.

At least that's one theory -- yet to be proven.

There are way more illegals in Texas -- 17,000 ??

And no issues there.

The problem appears to be corruption in the local govt who are inciting this anarchy to protect their scam, from what I've gathered.
