Will Trump create chaos; suspend/call off midterm elections?

Featured Replies

He is already talking about it.
According to multiple news reports, Donald Trump has made remarks suggesting that the United States “shouldn’t even have” the midterm elections, though his team later framed these comments as jokes or rhetorical exaggeration.
But we all know he also lied about "not knowing anything about project 2025", while he was deeply involved in it.

So, I fear he will try it. If Federal Agents support this and occupy the streets, what will the US army do? Obey the Constitution or obey a dictator who wants to end democracy?

I don't know what he will do, but he will probably claim the election is rigged, as he already did about other elections in 2012, 2016, 2020, 2024.... 🤣

You Yanks have made a rod for your own backs !!! What does your constitution say about a madman in charge !!

He is following a carefully prepared plan to authoritarianism.

Do you really think he's going to let that be thrown away by losing the midterms?

You can wait and let him execute his plan, but that will be too late.

Expect a massive emergency to enable him to stop the midterms. Riots, Nuclear explosion, war, civil war.

Asking whether or not Trump will create chaos is like asking whether or not an infant will cry over the next 30 days. Of course he will. He is an absolute master of chaos.

Hopefully if Trump does try to cancel or steal the elections, the army will obey the Constitution, execute him, and take his entire cabinet into custody.

Trump will do anything to stay in power.

He talks a lot of nonsense.

The U.S. system is designed so that the person in power cannot decide when the next election happens. Even during the Civil War and World War II, elections were held on time.

Trump would have to fight 50 different state governments simultaneously at election time since they control the election - not him.

The U.S. system relies on the idea that "The Law is King." If a President tried to use the military to stay in power, they would be acting as a rebel against the Constitution. At that point, it becomes a question of whether the people in the military and the government choose to follow the Constitution or a Person. Historically, the U.S. military has stayed strictly out of politics.

That doesn't mean he won't try.

Like I said, expect something big, Nuclear explosion in Central Park, something very big.

You lefty’s are always expressing your true inner subconscious desires. Always salivating for the worst that can happen.

Sorry to disappoint you, I'm right leaning and I'm not from our Former Colonies.

Another 'what if' that will never happen. Y'all need to take a break from Trump living in your head every day, hour, minute while awake or sleeping.

Go outside, enjoy life, have a life, or seek counseling. Help is available, just have to ask. Instead of asking silly queries on AN.

Some of the silliest comments from some very ignorant people. Do you realize, have any idea, how impossible that would be to do, suspend any election. Seek counseling, learn how to have a life, enjoy life.

Everyday I wake up, to some of the best comic relief ... THANK YOU

No you are not right leaning. You are about as extreme left as anyone can be. Your ideology is of the Colonization Marxist mob that is your culture cult.

I bet on this: he will arrange a fake assault on his life (the previous 2 were real, I believe that). Next declare state of emergency and suspend the midterm elections. Proud Boys and Federal agents will work together.

Hitler did this:
German SS operatives, some wearing Polish uniforms, attacked a German radio station near the Polish border. This was part of Operation Himmler, a series of staged incidents designed to create a pretext for invading Poland.

They have never been tested.

Whether they choose to follow the Constitution or a Person remains to be seen.

They may even split..

I think he will engineer circumstances which will mean they will be tested. If, as is pretty clear he has incorporated into armed Federal paramilitaries the very militias which played a central part in "January 6th", and if the military choose the Constitution over Trump, then there could even be clashes.

I created a calendar invite to revisit this thread on Nov 3, 2026, so I can mock all of you.

What flavour is your Kool Ade.

President Trump won't suspend elections and couldn't do it if he even wanted to. The idea that he would is a social media screeching projection of what the Dems would do if they ever achieve power.

It'll be like the Presidential election, we will lose a whole bunch of members that maybe will just reappear under different names. Remember that dude that was traveling home just to vote? I can't remember who he was but we've never seen him again. At least under that name lol

Talking about projection:
Accusing “the other side” (Dems) of wanting to suspend elections is itself a form of projection.
If we’re going to talk about risks to elections, it makes more sense to focus on verifiable actions, constitutional limits, and historical precedent.
Just look at history: Jan 6 2021, Trump (with his Rep extremists) tried to turn over the elections. In Nov he won't take the risk of losing the midterm elections.

Next, look what the Reps are trying in Minnesota:
Bondi said ICE would pull back from Minneapolis only if Minnesota:

Handed over voter rolls (and more).
With full voter rolls, a party can:

  • Identify exactly which groups vote less often

  • Micro‑target them with tailored political messaging

  • Run suppression campaigns (discouraging turnout)

  • Run mobilization campaigns (boosting turnout in favorable groups)

This is the same logic behind Cambridge Analytica — but with far cleaner data.
With full rolls, a party can:

  • Claim certain voters are “ineligible”

  • Push for mass voter roll purges

  • Challenge registrations in targeted districts

  • Door‑knocking campaigns targeted at specific political groups

  • Fear‑based messaging aimed at vulnerable communities

  • Pressure on low‑turnout neighborhoods

This has happened before in several states.
A national voter database can be build.

This is something many states have resisted because:

  • It centralizes political power

  • It creates a surveillance‑like tool

  • It can be misused by any future administration

It is building a system that is handy for a dictator

Thats all major projection LOL, as well as Umbrella Lady level of conspiracism.

What....? 🤫

He has upset the military frequently. While it remains to be seen, there are some who must be seething. They will probably choose to follow the constitution rather than a guy who has no honour.
