Vance has all the charisma of soggy Melba Toast, lacking even the odd charisma that appeals to lifelong losers that trump has. Rubio is too weak, and will eventually be thrown under the bus by Trump or Miller, so he's dead meat, too.

If Republicans have any brains, which is a matter of debate, they would choose a moderate like Massie and let MAGA sink into the cesspool of history, like McCarthyism and Naziism.

Another well know public figure mentions Pretzger on his short list (of three).

I think most everyone has Newsom and Shapiro on their radar. but Pretzger deserves to be up there as well.

In this case a former high ranking REPUBLICAN showing that the most effective and visible activists against maga fascism come from that space.

Why I personally prefer Pretzger over Newsom and Shapiro --

Newsom is entertaining and his trolling Trumo is needed but ultimately, I think it will be just a SUGAR HIGH.

That simply doesn't play nationally. Face it.

Shapiro -- the most charismatic speaker of the three. A very competent administrator and brilliant speaker. But I will say it. Being Jewish shouldn't be a problem but it is and Shapiro is a very religious Jew as well so his identity is a very big part of his brand. Many Christian fundementalists might like that, but overall, I think it's a problem.

Pretzger -- Doesn't have the name recognition of the others, isn't a Trump troll, and while a decent speaker doesn't have Shapiro's charisma. But so many strengths. His midwestern common sense vibe comes across loud and clear. I prefer his rhetoric most of the three. He's folksy and I think although a billionaire seems to relate to the common man and I think they can relate to him. Yes another Jew but it isn't a big part of his political brand. While he's not a Scheinbaum (Jewish president of Mexico) who doesn't seem to have anything Jewish about her except her last name, I think the damage from that would be much less than with Shapiro.

Speaking of leading democrats with "different" identities, what about Buttigeig? Well, I hope he doesn't run. Let him go for high office in Michigan where he has a good chance compared to his native Indiana where he had no future.
