Good job by immigration. Let´s hope this gets big in the news, so others can read what happens when they totally disrespect a country and its population.

"While several similar occurrences have been reported, many of those involved have reportedly left the country without any legal repercussions. In a comparable case last December, a Russian couple was charged with a similar offense in Pattaya, though they did not face deportation or blacklisting."

If they are going to be consistent OK, but when other get a pass, this looks very bad!! Maybe racist?

i am wondering why people do things here in Thailand they never do in their home country... Getr drunk, pee in the sea, no problem but this is just not done.....

Some (many) people, whatever their social, academic or other status, need some sort of a 'strict control' system to keep them civilized, unfortunately. The moment they find the rules are lax, or a loop hole, their in-built animal comes out.

Humans live behind a façade—especially in social and online spaces.

I can think of sights that bother me much more than if I had witnessed this.

Every day I see obese foreigners, whose bellies make them look 6+ months pregnant, walking around Bangkok. They look disgusting, and they did it to themselves. Zero discipline, zero self-control. Often their bulbousness is draped in some logo'd wifebeater t-shirt with maybe AC/DC or Pink Floyd or Nirvana on it. They waddle, the blubber shakes like Jello, and maybe their hairy arms are all tatted up like a pretend Maori warrior.

THAT is revolting. While couples in the mood should take it indoors, it would be nice if land whales would stay even farther out of the public view. Fat is much more offensive, and frankly, much more perverted. If this French couple deserves deportation (up to Thai authorities), I might suggest deporting all fatties, too.

Waist bigger than 35 inches? Go home, blubberbutt! Make Thailand beautiful again.

Your attitude is exactly why there are so many tw£ts globally that think they can do whatever they like with little punishment. Less French in Thailand? Hmmmm 5555

If in the USA, UK or most Western countries, I imagine they would be fined. I doubt they would be deported and blacklisted for such an offense.

But that’s just my perception, I don’t actually know the legal penalties in Western countries.

On the other hand, I can also imagine that in Middle Eastern countries, the penalties might be more severe than merely a fine and deportation.

In terms of tourism, Thailand is positioned as something akin to a brothel, so I guess people are seduced into believing that they can do anything they want of a sexual nature while here. I guess tourists need to be educated that go go bars and women openly hooking on the street don’t mean that you can have sex in the back of a tuk tuk.

No to fat-shaming. Mocking or criticizing individuals for their weight is not only harmful but devastating to both their physical and mental well being. Such negative behaviors can lead to increased risks of depression, anxiety, and even further weight gain, undermining any genuine motivation for better health. This behavior often reflects deep seated fatphobia and anti-fat bias that need to be addressed. It is imperative that we promote body positivity, treat all individuals with dignity and respect, and firmly establish boundaries against any comments regarding body weight. Together, we can create a more supportive and inclusive environment that fosters health and well-being for everyone.

People with any integrity and decency should be respectful when visiting a foreign country not act like total Trash.

They are getting what people who are so inconsiderate of others cultures deserve.

Well if they treated everyone the same, who commit these 'crimes', you would have a point, but they dont!

I wouldn't much care if they do go elsewhere. And they can take their French-Arab motorcycle gangs with them too.

Or maybe they see that past 'punishments' have had no deterrent effect, so they need to up the ante. Let's see what happens in any future incidents...

The utter moral degradation! Thailand has to wage the good battle against this kind of thing, and make sure they keep the land pure and free of immorality.

So inconsiderate? one week in jai? ..... What harm did they do to you? How did this sexual act change your life?

Finally a good news.

I think the French who come here will now plan on not having sex in public. For that they'll have to research "public sex friendly countries". these are all just opinions of course, I grant that enforcement can be uneven, but I think the point needs to be publicly made that you don't come here expecting to get away with breaking laws, major or minor, and if you do, consequences can be harsh. I think, and a lot of people do, that many perpetrators are let off the hook too easily when they SHOULD be deported, such as IDF ex soldiers making ugly public scenes, walking out without paying tabs, etc. Anyone who doesn't bother to learn about cultural customs and behavior before they come here, or show no regard for the laws, don't belong here.

You need to refresh yourself on your definitions. Russians are not a race. They are a nationality. That refers to citizenship. Racism is a phenomenon of mostly the west. I'm from the US, a very racist country which is now about to erupt in a civil war because it has been illegally attacking and deporting people. I have seen no racism in Thailand in 13 years despite the claims of people who don't know what the word means, such as yourself apparently. Same with French, Americans, Germans, etc., These are nationalities, not races. Look it up. Look up ethnicity which is neither nationality nor race. Such as Jewish ethnicity, Isaan ethnicity. They are not races or nationalities. As far as Thailand's uneven enforcement, yes that's a problem, but it's their discretion and their prerogative. Name one country that is 100% consistent in its law enforcement.

No sympathy for them they should not do these acts in Thailand

Only thing is the They will ruin the good reputation of Thailand and need to be made a example of to others 😱

There is a lot worse going on than this that needs sorting out

Russians/French are not a biological race (true, as no human races exist scientifically), but they are an ethnic group (shared language, culture, ancestry, history). Nationality (citizenship) is separate from ethnicity. Prejudice against Russians or French as a group is still racism in modern definitions, because racism includes discrimination based on ethnic origin, national origin, or perceived group identity (e.g., UN Convention on Racial Discrimination.

Racism is NOT "mostly a Western phenomenon": Racism is global and predates/modern Western forms.

Examples: anti-Uyghur repression in China, Rohingya genocide in Myanmar, caste discrimination in India (often racialized), tribal/ethnic violence in Rwanda, anti-Black racism in parts of the Arab world, xenophobic attacks on African migrants in South Africa, and anti-Central Asian prejudice in Russia itself. The UN and historians document racism worldwide—it's a human issue tied to power, "othering," and hierarchy, not confined to the West.

Your personal experience in Thailand ("no racism in 13 years") is anecdotal and doesn't define reality: Thailand has documented racism—UN CERD experts have raised concerns about racial profiling, hate speech, stereotyping, and discrimination against ethnic minorities (hill tribes, Thai Lao/Isaan people), Black people (e.g., employment barriers for African teachers), dark-skinned Thais, and migrants from Myanmar/Cambodia. Reports include colorism, negative stereotypes ("stupid," "poor"), and mistreatment of foreigners (especially non-White). "No racism" claims often reflect privilege (e.g., as a Westerner) or selective perception—many Black/African, South Asian, and ethnic minority voices report the opposite.

Dismissing racism as "mostly Western" or limited to "race" ignores global evidence and modern definitions (UN CERD, US/UK laws, etc.) that include ethnic/national origin discrimination.

Prejudice against Russians, French, Americans, Germans, etc., can be racist because it targets ethnic/national groups. Your US-focused view doesn't make racism "Western-only"—it exists everywhere, including Thailand.

By definition their act was just about the opposite to fighting.

I can only dream…. 😘

Yet the tuk tuk driver was not the one who reported them to the police. Some perv with a phone just managed to catch them and spread it online, not to the police.

Indeed, bothers me less than violent fighting in public. At least they were “enclosed” in a tuk tuk 🤣
