Interesting to note that such "quality" tourists get an open entry with no visa hassles but the decent foreigner who owns property and brings in good money will always need to go throught the hassle of the annual visa submission even for a 3 month winter stay.

Many developped countries give a 10 year multiple entry visa with no hassles to all foreigners who own any kind of property in their country, be it on leasehold of freehold. Only the property title deed or lease document needs to be submitted with a statement of a pension and that's it. No other absurd documents requested, as they do in Thailand.

When will Thailand follow and booster a bit the economy ?

He could be a Brit or an Aussie or whatever ? How can anybody tell that he is Russian ? Besides that's not the point, be him a Russian, a Brit, a Hollander or whatever...the point is that Thailand seems to attract more and more weirdos from all over. Just for the record, many weirdos can also be found in luxury villa rental developpments or showing around their new rent-a-month girlfriend. This to say that no need to be broke to be a weirdo in Thailand.

I don't know if that is true. I thought they got a 90 day Visa exempt (reciprocal agreement) under normal circumstances but it only qualified for tourism, and cannot be extended.
