Better get myself a stab vest before my next trip to Thailand. Can you get stab trousers?

Test the Brit for drugs (with his consent) if 0 traces the Thai is lying

If the British guy is lying then stabbing him the leg was justified? The Thai will be release and not charged with the stabbing?

Is that official policy now?

In the UK when somebody gets stabbed we don't blame the victim. The US gets lots of shootings, does the victim in the US always get blamed because they were shot?

Sometimes,.like when they are in the wrong like burglarizing a house

Yes I was thinking of shootings in the street or convenience stores. Is carrying a knife in Thailand illegal? In the UK it is illegal to carry a knife not that it has in any way decreased the number of stabbings.

If the Brit doesn't have any drugs in his system, the Ketamine story is probably nonsense. Easy to check.

Yes, even my codpiece is stab/slash resistant. One never knows what they'll encounter whilst cruisin' in those areas of Pattaya.

Was his nibs out and about in those shorts? Stepping out with Freddie, Elton and the rest of the lads.

Looks like the British tourist had earlier randomly approached him and then persistently followed and pressured him to sell ketamine.

Young British Tourist Stabbed, Seriously Injured, By Thai...

Pattaya- A young British tourist was seriously injured after being stabbed in the leg by a Thai man after a prior verbal and physical altercation with the suspect inside a convenience store in Jomtien

Why would you post an article, seemingly to substantiate your viewpoint, without reading it first? Or did you simply fail to comprehend it?

Are you implying that if the victim tests positive for marijuana, the Thai is being truthful?

Sounds very strange wanting ketamine drug ?

Dealer upped the price on him and an altercation ensued.

Or, he sold him bad quality product.

Jomtien is a dangerous place, this would never happen in Pattaya..

The Pattaya "scene" has expended to take in Jomtien. It's all same same now.

All the years Ive been in TH never once seen an UNprovoked attack on a foreigner.

But FAFO

Really the issue is those damned drugs.

Both these lunatics were likely high as kites on the yaba daba doo doo.

Surely the issue is somebody carrying a knife and prepared to use it.

I wonder if this happens in Wadeye in the Northern territory?

Things can happen randomly, it's how you respond that matters

Many people are in jail because the way they responded to situations eg road rage

No deflection but posting facts. Why do Americans put up with all the Asian crime in America? Because it happens and you hope it doesn't happen to you. Thailand needs tourism to help pay the bills, and with tourism comes a few loonies that are likely the same way in their own countries. Can't escape loonies unless you buy an island.

Thailand is also a sex capital, which means they allow their women and boys to be bought and sold, some involving addiction and slavery, all for profits, mostly by the Thais themselves, and where corruption sometimes allows it to happen.

What "Asian crime" are you talking about in America. Yes. Thailand has its issues when it comes to crime as does every other country. However, your view of Thailand is pretty harsh and I highly doubt your quoted figures. I spend most of my time in Issan and like many other areas of Thailand outside Pattaya and Phuket that seem to have a great deal of crime, prostitution and drugs. Things here ate pretty quiet and not anything like the view of Thailand that you paint in your posts. And when it comes to Pattaya and Phuket I say "seem to have a great deal of crime.."

because i have never personally been there and only read news about those places from sources like this (which means that I am making an assumption.) I am sorry that you have such a low view of Thailand. If you still live here, you should really consider leaving.

I was mentioning Asian crime in America to show that foreigners cause troubles in every country, and not just here, and that foreign crime here is only a fraction of what goes on daily here. It wasn't a shot at Asians at all, but all foreigners. I had a Thai wife, have a Thai girlfriend and a half Thai daughter. I only post data from studies done, which are easy to look up.

Yes, I'm also in Isaan and there is a lot less crime here than in the big cities. The same happened when I lived in America. Country areas have a lot less people and a lot less crime. Population increases crime, and gang activity is usually in cities.

I don't have a low view of Thailand. It has a lot of beautiful places, like the beaches and mountains and lakes. Great food, and a lot of good people. Boring in many places of course, unless your idea of happiness is gardening and farming. It's not for me, and also my daughter, as it's not a good country for girls or women in general. We will be leaving, as I want my daughter to have a much better life and future. My only real problems here are how I see women, animals and children treated, and have noticed this for 8 years, along with hearing about it both before I moved here and by others here since. That and the lack of consideration and incompetency on the roads, along with the lack of enforcement there.

If you live here long enough, you know how people are here, especially the males. Children are given away to grandparents at a rate of over 35%, while neighboring countries stay as low as 5%. It's the highest rate worldwide and is a major problem not only now but for Thailand's future. I look at women as equals, and not secondary as the culture in Asia does.

I'm a realist, seeing things as they are, and don't go by my opinions because they mean little. I'll post two links, of which there are many, and wiki is awhile ago.https://ocindex.net/country/thailand Things have gotten worse and will continue because corruption is countrywide, and the justice system doesn't make males responsible for support of the children they create...............https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crime_in_Thailand

Most of the vehicles in the US are autos. It's not a poor nation where most just get by. It's a wealthier country where most just get by. The difference between this country and the US is that in the US people are held responsible a lot more for the crimes they commit, even the youngsters.

I didn't say the US had millions of Asians breaking the law. What I meant is that it happens in both places, so why focus on foreigners when it's mostly locals breaking the laws here? In the US, everyone either comes from another country or have descendants that do.

Thailand is a tourist country, just like all others. Tourists are the ones responsible for the majority of foreign crimes here. The thousands of foreigners that live here aren't causing a lot of crimes. The majority is Thais against Thais.

Of course there are tourists in America that cause trouble, but they aren't pointed out on forums like they are here, nor in the news as they are here, with prejudice. Everyone knows most crimes in the US involve the citizens that live there. The US surely has it's share of foreigners coming there as criminals.

There are people here, foreigners, that don't like other foreigners, which is plainly weird, with again the fact that almost all crimes here are locals. But they point out, with assumptions, that there are so many foreigners coming here committing crimes. Most that come here aren't but coming to have a good time, mostly with the Thai women, and some ladyboys.

Once more with feeling.

Then I think everyone will get it.
