SAMSUNG LED TV repair

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I’m looking for a reliable TV repair guy in Chiangmai city.

My Samsung LED TV recently developed some dark shadow areas on the screen. From what I can tell, it looks like a backlight LED issue — the panel itself isn’t cracked and the image is still visible and nice enough to watch a movie.

I got a Samsung quote, who confirms the backlight problem, for 7,150 THB, which seems pretty steep for this. Before I decide to replace the TV, I’d like to see if there’s a good local technician who can do it at a more reasonable price.

Any recommendations from personal experience would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Cheaper to buy a new one

Just buy yourself a new TCL 75" for 15kbht

They're really great, with 3 year warranty.

Sale starts this evening.

This is in my plan, TCL C8K or C9K but not right now. Just waiting for some more answers.

You haven't mentioned the size or age of the TV.

Good luck with getting a cheaper quote though.

I was quoted around that price for my Samsung 5 years ago.

They don't want them being fixed these days, so just make the spare parts unreasonable.

75v6c showing up as 14,300bht delivered this morning.

Once a TV is out of warranty throw it away, the cost of repair to an old tv does not make financial sense, bought a TCL last year to replace a LG and very impressed, bought at homepro where you can see the its performance against other brands

I got the same problem with my Samsung. I got it fixed once on the guarantee, and then the same row of backlights at the top of the screen went dark again a year later - after the warrantee expired.

Perhaps a solution if you want to wait buying a new one like me: On my TV the problem only arise when I use bright light settings, if I use maximum energy savings everything is fine. Been doing that for more than a year now. However, that is only a solution if you have blackout curtains or only watch TV after sunset.

We lost a Samsung to the floods, replaced it with a HiSense, so far it's proving to be a good alternative.

For everyone, I have already chosen a new model, high end, but enough expense right now ;-)
As I will give this TV to family later this year, I was thinking about a cheap fix. Topic closed I think and thanks for all new TV suggestions.
