Look at the audience you have attracted with your drinking posting Georgie boy 👍

I would like to visit there, as I have respect for Aussies as they helped us in many wars. Would love to catch a Marlin in Cairns also, along with seeing Crocs in their natural habitat like I saw the gators in Florida.

I'd like the catch up with you too, Maybe we can meet at Georgie boys hospital for a coffee.

Let me know when you're going down under I'll make sure I'm there.

PS, Please bring Richard with you, I reckon he'd be a barrel of laughs.

For sure it's OK! Just be sure to keep track of how long it takes you to drink each beer, how many gulps per beer, beer and room temperatures, etc. Someday, that information will be invaluable to mank

You know what our crocs call American tourists?

Lunch.

They take a few locals yearly also. I wouldn't get anywhere near the water they live in unless in a good sized boat.

VB is a pretty average beer. No better than Singha.

Agree, but i'm not fussy as long as it's cold, very cold, I'm drinking it 🍻

It's on my bucket list to finish once I re-establish back home. One of the best places to catch a big one.

Most people catch small bream. The chance of getting a marlin is tiny unless you are a pro fisherman. Most cities are boring and hotels are 7x the price of Thailand. A Massaman curry is $16. I paid $2.50 today.

You can see Crocs in Bangkok and the shows are better.

Adelaide has the world's best Shiraz but otherwise Australia is nothing special. Cairns is a boring city and reef tours are a rip off. Better off going to Ko Chang and doing a boat trip.

Most Aussies prefer to holiday in Bali or Thailand or Europe cause Australia is boring and expensive.

How much time have you spent in America? Where did you tour or live? Lets get an answer to this one Harrisfan, dont be dodging anything.

I actually wonder how much time, if any, that it has spent here in Thailand or in any other country for that matter!!

Many fisherman catch a good amount of fish. I catch and release most. A Marlin isn't hard to catch when you hire a boat that specializes in them. You don't have to be a pro fisherman to catch a lot of fish. That's a tournament fisherman that competes with others in contests, which I don't. Most Marlin are caught by tourists that hire charters. I'm thinking most of your answers are just guesses, as you can't judge how a place is unless you've actually been there. Cairns is one of the best places to catch a huge Marlin, along with many other species, and is visited by thousands yearly.

Grab and the other delivery services won't bring beer. You can have cannabis delivered, though. Maybe ask if they will stop and pick up some beer on the way for an extra tip.

They do - but you have to use a 'work around'...

Order something 'non-booze' - then when Grab accepts the order, contact the rider and ask to add wine / beer etc to the order - then transfer money directly to them (its risky of course - but you already have their details at that stage) - I've used this a couple of times when at parties and we've run low - the rider even put their video-cam on so I could chose the wine which was quite awesome service - got to love Thailand for this sort of stuff.

You make it sound easy when it is not.

Many things are easy if you actually practice them, especially for over 50 years.

You went marlin fishing for 50 years? Since when?

7 year old petulant child throwing an all to frequent tantrum. Once again when were you in America and where did you tour?

Marlin fishing strike rates vary by technique, with live baiting offering up to 60-70% success compared to 30% for lures. Generally, anglers experience low conversion rates, often needing to raise 5 fish to get 1 bite and landing only 1 in 5, according to some experiences. Key to success is a 30% drag setting.

If you didn't forget things so fast, you wouldn't make such silly comebacks. To help you, I said fishing is easy, which it is if you practice it enough. I said a Marlin was on my bucket list, which means I haven't tried for them yet. If i did, I would already have caught one.You just posted a link which I didn't need, as I've been a fisherman all my life, and know what catching a Marlin takes. Good boats get at least one most trips, and I've talked to many charters in my life on their success, and see it firsthand on docks when they return, in New Jersey, Florida and Texas. Lost a huge Sailfish in Florida myself, though it did jump twice, which is most of it as I would have released it anyway, like I will when I catch a Marlin.

So 1 marlin per boat so 80% likely you miss out after paying lots of money for a tour. Sounds hard to me!

I find the reach around method is quite effective.

Marlin fishing tours in Cairns, particularly for Giant Black Marlin (Sept-Dec), range from approximately $2,600 to over $3,500+ AUD per day for private, heavy-tackle charters. These chartered, high-end boats generally accommodate up to 6 people, providing specialized equipment for the reef and continental shelf, with multi-day trips available.

Sounds like an expensive gamble

Most of them are low alcohol now, 5 or less, add a shot of vodka, much better. Manufacturers are taking alcohol out, i put it back in

Why is vodka better than tatts?

You can drink Vodka and enjoy it on your own or in company but you cannot do that with Tatts!

Vodka gives a good feeling, tatts usually leads to trouble down the line

Especially if I could do it to certain people on AN!

PS; I do not mean you!

I would think by now, after reading all of the replies here, you might think a little more about the fact that tattoos aren't a thing to judge anyone by, as some criminals have none and some high up people do. All walks of life, all positions and all religions, nationalities and races. In history, millions of people with and without tattoos have done some incredibly destructive things.

I'm of course not referring to gang members, who have them as symbols of power (to them), and colors to warn or enlist fear in others, but the regular average person who has them because they like this form of art and putting them on themselves, can carry them wherever they go . All the people I've known with tattoos have never done any serious crime nor hurt anyone.

Anyone defending anyone who hasn't been proven wrong in any way isn't wrong. I don't have any tattoos and I'm defending those with them because it's again not a reason to judge.

Under the tropics, drink fresh clean chilled water...not booze. You'll live longer to enjoy and the pot belly will be grateful.

First time I agree with you.

1 or 2 tatts is no big deal. They only look ugly if covered in them. Drinking 5 vodkas a day is more harmful.
