Why has the word lisp got an s in it?

:o

to challenge the verbally challenged

Why has the word lisp got an s in it?

As confirmation that the talker has indeed got a lisp.

It would be pointless calling it a 'dob' for instance. i.e the talker says "I have a dob". The listener then says "prove it". So the talker then has to say a word like "lisp" to prove it. :o

That's a clever post bj. It's like the words 'stutter' and 'stammer', difficult for the sufferer to say! :o

If a person with multiple personalities threatened to kill themself, would that be considered a hostage situation? :o

Hey, hey, hey, this is the random posts thread!

Being a Libra I thought I was indecisive but now I'm not so sure.

To post or not to post a random post, that is the question!

Gawd this is embarrassing, I knew the five o'clock somewhere one without looking it up, and know I know this one too, and I really can't stand country and western..... here goes, off the cuff.

Oh lord it's hard to be humble

when you're perfect in every way

I can't wait to look in the mirror

I get better looking each day

To know me is to love me

I must be a hel_l of a man

Oh lord it's hard to be humble

but I'm doing the best that I can.

Now I am definitely getting my coat.

I think you should! :o

ps Are you a closet C&W fan!?!? :D

What's the longest word in the English language?

Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (45 letters) is the longest word ever to appear in an English language dictionary. This 45-letter word, referred to as P45[2], first appeared in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) in 1936. It is still listed in the current edition of the OED, as well as several current American dictionaries.[3] A condition meeting the word's definition is normally called silicosis.

Pseudopseudohypoparathyroidism (30 letters) Longest non-coined word in a major dictionary is an inherited disorder that closely simulates the symptoms, but not the consequences of pseudohypoparathyroidism, thus it has mild or no manifestations of hypoparathyroidism or tetanic convulsions.

Antidisestablishmentarianism (28 letters) Longest non-coined and nontechnical word

WOW, now we know, we are all clear on that.

TY Momo.

I still think Robski's 'smiles' was the best!

I come here when bored.......lotsa fun and laffs in TV.

suegha......, must be mostest boredestest.....

Always here.

No he is randomly there. I'm here and he's not, so following logic he must be there? However, as you've said he's always here and clearly I am here and I can't see him, I'm now confused.

I have a number of cases. One of them is mustard in colour.

Although i quite like French Mustard, you can't beat English Mustard. It's just, well, erm, Mustard really.

I leave it on in the background and check it every now and again!

suegha

Like, ya wearing a mustard coloured box ?..... :D
