The rare Long-footed Potoroo is known to eat several species of underground fungi in southern Australia and is thought to be an important vector for dispersal of the spores of native truffles.

French oak floor boards are most warm and inviting!

I've got paint under my finger nails. I wish it had gone on the skirting boards instead. I'm gonna use surgical gloves next time.

If your stop watch stops, is it a non-starter.

Nope, just means you have to wind it up.... most in here are fairly good at that :o

Paralana Hot Springs, Flinders Ranges, Sth Aust.

These hot springs rise through a fissure and contain helium, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and radon gas (which is poisonous). Camping in the area is prohibited because of the possible build up of deadly gases. The water reaches the surface at near-to-boiling point.

I went camping here nearly 30 years ago after I'd heard about the Paralana Hot Springs Syndicate venture in 1926 to promote this spot, "Nowhere in the world has Nature provided such a wonderful mineral impregnated waters as at Paralana", the venture failed in 1927 - largely because of the primitive living conditions (and it's distance from civilisation. Check with C.B. maybe he got as far north as this whilst mustering !!

It was a fabulous spot though a tad difficult to get to in a Ford Transit van

If interested in this area see this site for further info :-

Lamborghini -- owned by Volkswagen 3. Volvo -- owned by Ford 4. Aston Martin -- owned by Ford 5. Saab -- owned by General Motors 6. Jaguar -- owned by Ford ...

That is strange.

I heard a rumour that Tata of India just bought Jaguar & Land Rover the other day, can anyone confirm ?

Back in the 'old days' Saab were only getting into car manufacture and borowed a ford v4 engine and the carb that came with it. This is way before GM owned them or the complex arrangements as stated by pete. Before the v4 thay actually used a 851 cc triple cylinder 2 stroke engine with a freewheel clutch. They won all the rallies with this. They retained the freewheel clutch for the v4 which makes it a weird drive but fun! Nothing wrong with the FoMoCo carb when it's working fine!

Thanks for taking such an interest in the fine old saab v4!

Here's a pic of my baby...

Well the camera does lie! It needs a re-spray. And being metalic it's virtually impossible to 'touch-up'! However, everyhting else is tip-top and it goes like stink and stops like a modern car. Nice.

You can just see my 1966 Volvo Amazon undercover in the background.

Tata, mite sound like a chip factory to the uninitiated TV poster. :o

If a man talks in a forest and there is no woman there to contradict him, is he still wrong? :o

The numbat, also called the Banded Anteater or marsupial anteater, This Australian marsupial mainly eats termites or 'white ants' with its very long sticky tongue. This gentle and squirrel-like solitary animal the Numbat, is active by day, each numbat having its own home range. At night they sleep in a hollow log or under fallen timber. Numbats are slow moving animals that "trot" about with its bushy tail held high.

What make is it ?

Omega are much easier than a Breitling. However, if it's a Timex, i suggest throwing it away and buying a new one.

Which reminds me of a certain blonde lady I once knew who called her 2 Yorkshire Terriers Rolex And Timex, when I asked why she said, "The're watch dogs - Hello !"

Which peg was my coat on again ?
