wonder what your next poll's gonna be about... :D

I hope it's another 'fun guessing poll'. :o

Did you have to guess which utensils you use? That's really interesting. You aren't like the other girls. Maybe you are the one to "change the oil." You fascinate me. You look simply mahvelous. Who does your hair?

No your 'fun guessing pole' as you called it was your 7/11 offering.

Amongst others i have had my hair done by Stuart Phillips, Trevor Sorbie and Louis Licari.

I feel a dry spell coming on.

Still wondering about Somchai, Johnny, and Lek, aren't you?

Sounds like the name of a politically correct Thai grammar school primer teaching kids to be tolerant of mixed gay farang-Thai couples with kids, huh?

To me? no.. sounds nothing like that.

But then again, 'farang' sounds offensive to you.. so who knows what goes on inside your head.. :o

Irrespective of your perception of credulity I also do not understand the question. Do you mean use the fork to guide the food onto the spoon and then spoon food into mouth?

Thank you PH for also wanting clarification of what JT was talking about :D . "Pushing fork into spoon" is how I eat spaghetti, not Thai food.

But now you have properly described this non-farang eating method PH, the answer is "Yes, it's what I do when eating most Thai food".

Noodles, of course, require chop sticks and a Thai spoon (for the liquid).

Now, if there's anything else I can help you with jingthing to make your apparently permanent stay in Thailand more enjoyable - until the 800,000 baht visa requirement is increased to 2 million - please let me know.

:o

Good one. But if its 2 million dollars, no problem, starting to use that stuff to wipe my tuchus.

PS: you are right, that would do it. Off to South America in or Cebu in that case. That is simply too much money to sit idly in a Thai bank. BTW, your avatar rocks, and it so fits your posts. Brilliant.

Gone native yet, in the eating utensil department?

I have noticed without thinking sometimes eating non-Thai food the Thai fork into spoon way. Thai food always.

I was even doing this in Farangland for some foods, and boy do you get stares! I like to imagine they think I was raised by wolves or am fresh from some institution for special people.

Not talking about eating Asian noodles (well soups anyway), which should be eaten with chopsticks anywhere you are.

This style of eating makes much more sense to me- I us it all the time with Thai food or Frang.

I always eat Thai food like a Thai (I am Thai after all this time), but as far as Farang (Home food goes) I can not cut steak with a spoon. But I much prefer chop sticks when eating anything other than soup.

I love that spoon...sort of akin to a shovel for me......life IS good in LOS! :o

The fork does nothing special for them except pushing the food.

Why don't they use two spoons? :o

Why don't Britons use two spoons for pudding? (I nearly said Farangs, but then I remembered a French joke about red spots on Belgians on Monday mornings.)

Wow!

Now starting this poll has really been worth it.

That is a brilliant existential question. Why the fork when the fork points are never used? What is the sound of one hand clapping?

My theory, if putting a fork in your mouth is considered impolite, if you didn't have a fork to be impolite with, you have no way to show your polite face of NOT putting the fork in your mouth.

And there is the fork as a trap for the farang barbarians to show off their true natures: fork in mouthers!

In the past the knife was viewed as a weapon so it was banished from the table while eating.

Sounds plausible. You could do some damage with a fork as well. So why not 2 spoons?

Because that would look even more ridiculous than the current arrangement.

Good answer. And it's also kind of homoutensual. I am sure that is a new word!

Hmmm, but so are chopsticks. There goes that theory, and they are even more homoutensual.

You just made that word up but i'm guessing your reffering to the act of spooning.

That adds to the image. But with two spoons, you have two of the same utensil; thus two spoons are homoutensual. Also chopsticks.

With the spoons it would even be cooler if the spoons were different colors.

By-the-way i went to Abyssinia Ethiopian Cafe in Bangkok for lunch, i had the Minchet Abish Alicha and it was quite good.

For real? Recently? I had heard that closed! They are open again?

And to keep on topic, you eat that chow with your hands, thus its noutensual or manoutensual.

Yes it is open but not the original, this is in the pratunam area, i will find the full address for you if you are interested.

I don't think it has anything to do with the original owners.

Thanks, yes, I want the address for sure and why don't you post it here, I am sure they could use some new business. The original one was in my view only mediocre but as it was the only place in Thailand to get that kind of food, it was sad to see them go.

BTW, Abyssinia Ethiopian Cafe is exactly the same name as the defunct Sukhumvit location, so are you sure its not the same owners? Either way, its the only game in town (country actually).
