Just returned from Singapore and got an 1 year Multi-Entry non-O Marriage visa with no problem. Had to show marriage certificate, copy of ID card of Thai wife, 1 visa photo, and a bank book with 400,000 THB in it. The bank account was in my name only. Did not ask if it could have been at a non-Thai bank. The price is 220 SGD for the multi and 85 for the single entry. The bank book is only required for the multi-entry. Very simple, no hassle at all. They were not even closed on the Feb 21st Thai holiday so I was able to pick it up then after dropping it off on Feb 20.

I wish I could say the same for Penang, I just returned from there I had all the same docs as you although my bank is in Jersey with over a million bt in sterling. They only gave me a 3mo single entry visa. I did it through an agent so I couldn't question it. I will definitely go to Singapore next time, what a load of BS.

Strange as just last week my mate did it there and got the non imm O ME.

Only Singapore uses the money anywhere in the world provision. Penang will want to see money in Thailand although they have not been strict in the amount required and many have obtained multi without account or very little.

They really got us jumping through hoops. what a circus. I'll try Singapore next if that doesn't work I'll bite the bullet and stick 400k into a Thai account. If that doesnt work then they can stick it!! I'll pack up the wife, kids and money and go somewhere else.
