Drinkies Patong

OC would you feel like informal drinkies (or a chat with others who will be enjoying a drink or three) prior to to your op? I'm meeting up with LeungKen and Bagsida for a drink and I think LivinginKata may also join us. Perhaps ThaiGerd, Sir Burr and others may be interested as well. I was thinking of either Faulty Towers (preferred) or one of the bars at Jungceylon (if that's the consensus). If so, give us a rough date (and I will square it with LeungKen's commute day). Anyone else who is interested, please chip in. Note this is separate from the TV p!ssup at Friendship Beach, so you will have to bring some folding (pay your own way), but as far as I'm concerned, the more, the merrier.

Pete, I would like to do this so that we can meet with OC before his op, and unfortunately, I don't think you'll be in town by then. If OC doesn't feel up to it, we'll reschedule so that you can be there. Either way, there is no reason we can't have a few of these - perhaps even schedule something on a monthly or some other regular basis, if there is sufficient interest.

Come on folks, put your hands up!

Thanks for the invite as well Ping, but I'm in Perth and won't be going to Phuket before my op. Getting a new hip put in so it will be a while before i'm able to travel again. My GF is coming down to help out. My plans mentioned above relate more to next winter.

Pity, it would be nice to meet all the guys mentioned. :D

All the very best to you “Old Croc” on your hip operation and wishing you a snappy recovery. :o

Qus? Will you be renaming your nick after the op, as well to say........ “Old Hippo”. :D

Yours truly,

Kan Win :D

Has OC had a hip op? Why were we not told here on Bedders? Whatever, OC you're cool mate. Hope you are very well.

I just know he's going to end up as a pair of shoes and a briefcase :o

I always thought a hip op was something aging hippies had, you know like "Hey man, like I went to this like hospital place man and this doc dude performed a real hip op on me, it was like totally awsome man".

Good luck with the op and wishing you a speedy recovery.

Any truth in the rumour that your new nick is going to be "Old Crock"? :o

:D ............ :o ............. :D

Thanks for the thoughts Kan Win and others.

Didn't really plan to talk about my nether regions in Bedlam, but here it is.

I suffer from arthritis, brought on by hemachromatosis, and had to have a hip replaced in 2000. The other one is now stuffed and I am having it done on 23 may.

I may have lied when I said my name came from a former career shooting large reptiles in the NT. :o

For all those people over the years who have used Old Crock as an insult or a joke, I thought of it first! :D

all the best for the operation OC.

if you PM me your number I might give you a call to check how you are doing :o

OC, you git rite soon as, ya hear now.

I knew ya name could NOT be tongue in the cheek.

Old or young, crocs cannot move their tongues. Fact

Old or young, crocs cannot move their tongues. Fact

Well, that would explain the total absence of lesbian crocs.

Anyway OC, good luck mate, I wish you well.

You mean crocs don't enjoy...

Oh, never mind. My minds in the gutter today!

Hi O.C.

You've been conspicuous by your abscence of late, I trust that it's nothing serious and that you will be back to your reptilian best soon.

Cheers & Chok Dee Khrap for the Op next month.

L.K.

Hey! all the best to you and hurry back, get your hip on hop and come hurray with those OPP (yeah you know me) :o

That's almost rap!

If it's gonna get his hip back on the hop I will rap it all day and night. Get his groove back baby.

Hip hopping is what I've been doing lately. Apart from the crook hip, I've re-injured my old footy injured knee (I'm on crutches - xray tomorrow) and to top it off came down with a bad case of gout in my foot. :D

Only good news, all on the same leg. :o

To fix the gout I've been tossing down tablets that give you the shits (to clean the system out) which result in lots of fun hip hopping on crutches to the dunny, as fast as possible, in the middle of the night. :D

Life is great.

My dad swears by cherries, old croc. He swears if he starts feeling a gout twinge, he downs cherries and the gout goes away. He eats cherries fairly regularly and hasn't had a gout attack in years.

Here is an interesting article about gout and diet

Thanks SBK, an interesting article.

There's been several threads about gout in the health forum over the last couple of years and all sorts of remedies have been put forward. I must admit I haven't heard the cherry one before. Must give it a try. :D

"Life Is Just A Bowl Of Cherries" Croc........

Hip hop rap? legag, you're so talented! :D

Wishing you a quick hip hopping recovery Old Croc.

SBK is correct about cherries. My Dad used to get the Gout & has had to quit eating liver & a couple other things , along with eliminating alcohol (or cutting way back)

The alternative to the hideous after affects of the antibiotics, was eating cherries. He tried them & it did have a good degree of success. Unfortunately he is too much of a macho guy to take anything for it.

I don't know he does it. Not a pretty picture!

I hope your up & running shortly good luck!

Thanks for the thoughts Beardog.

The gouts faded now and the stomach back to normal so a few less things to worry about.

I've hardly had a drink of alcohol in the last month, but the gout still came on. I think that's just an old wives tale to stop hubbies getting on the piss.

I also quit eating liver - about the time I moved out of home!

It's a fact, cherries do help as do strawberries.

You name it! I'd be serving you! (with consideration) You're suegha and I'm a meow! This is scary!!

Old Croc: keep it oldies you will not get hurt again.

:o ...wish you well OC ! Didn't read this topic until now...brrrrr...your turn now isn't it ?

Well, hope your hip, foot, knee, stomach and gout (did I miss anything ?... :D ) will be OK soon. Your hip job is done 23rd ?

Hope the best for you ! Yes, better stop eating liver.

Cheers
