Where Can I Get A Stair Gate In Bangkok?

Featured Replies

Anybody know where I can buy a stairgate in Bangkok? My 9 month old daughter thinks it hilarious to get to the top.. and she's quick too !

I have looked in Central City in Bang Na and Tesco and Carrefour but not seen any.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I saw some recently, I think it was in Robinson Seacon Square, but not sure.

Source a local carpenter and get one made for a low price. IMO works better too as it is screwed to the wall instead of using those screw-tightening rubber stoppers which won't support the weight of a falling child.

saw some at Central Chitlom, near the prams section.

I just tell my kid to be careful going up and down the stairs. Didn't fall down the stairs yet.

I always tell my 3 year-year-old to be careful on the stairs. She fell last month (fortunately near the bottom).

Besides getting stair gates, I'd suggest putting some padding at the bottom of the stairs and maybe on them as well.

In the meantime, you might try a beanbag chair, and you can use it for yourself after she grows up.

I made one myself out of 1 inch steel for a little over 1200 baht, worked great. They sell a wood version in Central for a bit over 3000 baht and is the reason I decided to make one on my own.

Ask your landlord to have one installed. BUilding is way cheaper. Or if you own, do it yourself. Lots of "how to" online.
